“Excellent value for money, Lovely room and Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2014

We stayed at the Novotel for a weekend away, Arriving early Saturday and returning home late Sunday evening. The hotel is located a mere couple of minutes walk away from the city centre in a perfect location.

We booked an Executive room, Which came with a king size bed and an additional sofa bed, Which was also very spacious. The room was very well kitted out, With a Bose docking station for your iPhone, An expresso coffee machine, A kettle, A mini fridge with complimentary water, And a smart tv full of the latest movies which were free to watch. (We watched At World's End, Which hasn't been out long!)

The room was very spacious, And the bathroom was also very good, A nice large bath with a very good power shower with a very large head on it! The bathroom came complete with extra towels and toiletries

We did decide to go and use the gym, Something we never do! It was great, a little small, But that was a perfect size as there was only three of us, And we had it to ourselves!

The steam room was a little small, The three of us only just got into it, But on a positive side, It was really hot, And did certainly refresh us! The sauna didn't seem to warm up, It might of just needed time to warm up, So i can't comment on that one, And there were a few exercise machines, We had a quick go on them for around five minutes headed out into the town!

All in all, a very good hotel, And we bought this through a deal on lastminute.com costing £51! An absolute bargain for the service we received!

This hotel was our meeting place to join a Globus Tour and it turned out to be the perfect place. Glasgow is a great place to fly into for the United Kingdom. We arrived early morning after an overnight flight from the US. This downtown hotel is a short 3 mile taxi ride from the airport. The reception staff gave us a free delicious buffet breakfast, stored our luggage, assisted us with their free wifi connection and off we went to explore some of the city until our room was ready. The shopping pedestrian Sauchiehall Street is a couple blocks away. Our room was clean, fresh and modern. The restaurant food was good and the bar was superb. The staff was very friendly and helpful. HINT: While traveling out of your cell phone area - avoid big cell phone roaming charges by putting your cell phone on AIRPLANE MODE so you will not get pings from cell towers and use only free or low cost Wi-Fi. After 2 nights here and a tour group welcome dinner, we were off to explore the United Kingdom. A great way to start our vacation.

Room Tip: All rooms were nice. Just ask for the size bed you need. Caution: this hotel and many European ho...

I agree with the other reviews about the staff, they were really helpful and as a business traveller, this is always appreciated. But my room review couldn't be more different! My room was quite small and felt very outdated with an actual mdf style 1980's wardrobe. TV couldn't get a good reception on channel 5 which was annoying. But most annoyingly, the bed was not comfortable at all! Location is good and breakfast was nice though. One of the better city centre hotels but clearly I got stung on the room!!

We had one night at the hotel, paying to upgrade to a Superior room. The position is OK, an easy walk from Queen St Station. The room was recently refurbished. It was nicely done up with a very comfortable king-size bed. the sheets were of very good quality and feel. The separate toilet was a good feature, and the shower was as good as we have ever had in a hotel. Hotel instructions could have been better. We had a good view of the college of Art with its James Rennie Macintosh windows as our room was on the sixth floor. .

We dined in their restaurant, good choice of food and wine. Its not often that the superb Alsace wines of Philipe Zinck appear in British Hotels, excellent. Service in the restaurant, and indeed throughout the hotel was very good. We did not have breakfast. It seemed a bit expensive with no obvious less expensive alternatives to the Full English. The room price we paid was competitive.

Overall highly recommended, but again nobody could explain to me what advantages I was supposed to get with my ACCOR loyalty card. Incidentally my customer number has sixteen digits, a little excessive I think.

Room Tip: On our experience upgrade to a Superior room.

I have stayed here, on business, for over a year now,l have to say that in my experience this is the best hotel I have found. The staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. They make you feel that you're special, and as a frequent business traveller I feel that this hotel is my second home. The location is ideal, with a large variety of restaurants and bars close by, yet the city centre is only a 10 minute walk away if you want to explore. Rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable, but its the staff that make this hotel so very excellent.
