Visited this restaurant for the first time today, having purchased an Itison voucher. Both our starters (veg pakora and prawn cocktail) and our mains (bhuna and southern Indian chilli) were beautifully cooked and presented and the rice portions sized just right. The staff here are lovely, very attentive but not pushy. The meals are excellent value for money, with or without a voucher. All in all we couldn't rate this place highly enough. The jewel in the crown of Merchant City!

We were warmly welcomed to the restaurant by the friendly waiters and shown to our table with menus. We were here on a voucher deal and the waiter helpfully pointed out what was included and what would incur extra charges. We shared a few poppadums' with the chutneys, dips etc. and these were fresh and tasty. The starters were then served and again these were fresh and served promptly. The sauces in the main courses were lovely - but I found my chicken to be a bit tough. It looked like chicken tikka breast, but unfortunately the texture was a bit tough - perhaps it had been microwaved or cooked separately from the sauce but this really let the dish down badly. The accompanying rice and nan were fine too - the nan being particularly tasty.
This is a lovely restaurant - the toilets are bit of a trek through the back and could do with being cleaned more regularly - this is the second time I've visited and both times the toilets were not a pretty site!

I recently visited this restaurant on a wet Saturday afternoon with an "itison deal"
Staff very helpful and friendly. Choice of dishes very good. You could tell that they were all freshly made to order and tasted really good as well. Main courses were of the same quality, piping hot and very tasty, good portion sizes as well. Decor could do with a bit updating but cannot fault the food or service.
All in a very pleasant afternoon was spent by 4 of us and we have all decided to go back and eat there again this Saturday and take our grand daughter with us as they had a childrens menu as well.

Had a fun night at Cafe India for our daughter's 21st birthday, and the staff were attentive and made the night fun. Food was tasty and well cooked. Pudding took a little longer than expected. Nice surprise for the birthday girl too, even though she was full!
Overall, a good night, food tasty and plentiful. We all enjoyed the night.
