We have been going to the New Anand for over 20 years now anniversaries, birthdays etc. Whilst the decor is not the most modern, the food is and has been amongst the best Indian food in the city. The buffet is great value for money and the staff are so friendly that it makes each visit a happy experience. It is one of the few restaurants that we make a point of visiting.

Went here recently for the buffet and was majorly disappointed. Found 2 hairs in the spiced onions and the choice of food was dire!! 4 starters with a few sad little pieces inside each container, mains were a variety of chicken tikka and 1 choice of soggy garlic nan:( decor was old and unclean looking and the door was open the whole time so it was freezing!! Anyone looking for a decent curry don't waste your time going in here!! Koh I noor in north st glasgow is by far the best curry house in glasgow.

I went here with two if my friends for a meal last night. We initially went with the £9.99 seven days per week buffet in mind but decided to go al la carte. On initial appearances I wasn't blown away by the decor but don't judge a book by its cover!

The food was freshly cooked and absolutely beautiful. We had the jalfrezi and chasni which I'd recommend. Mines came with fresh slices of ginger on top which was beautiful and aromatic. The garlic naan was out of this world!!!!

What topped this whole experience off was the waiters. We had two staff waiting on us and they were both so friendly!!! We took food away and he even gave us some free popodoms.

Overall I would highly recommend this place- great good, great service and very reasonable (starters to share, main each and a bottle of wine between 3 for less than £20). I will definitely be returning.

Sorry to hear that Yousef is no longer here. He was always so friendly and efficient and the place won't be the same without him. It's a big loss for the New Anand. We wish him all the best for the future and thank him for the super service he gave us.

Our first stop when we are in Glasgow, unpretentious little family restaurant specialising in fantastic Indian cuisine exactly like it should be. Wonderful and well worth a visit due to the qaulity food and the fantastic staff. Inexpensive but rich in flavours.
