“Come on Come on take that!”
Reviewed 27 June 2011

After looking at a number of hotels in Glasgow, I was swayed because of the excellent reviews, so decided to stay at the Hotel indigo, and I’m glad we did. We were in town for the Take That concert and to celebrate my girlfriends birthday, so I wanted somewhere nice. The hotel is situated 5 minutes from Glasgow central, so seemed ideal.

After arriving by train from Preston, check in was painless and the happy chap on reception Colm couldn’t be more helpful. The reception and bar/restaurant are bright, stylish and classy, and everywhere felt new. We were early, so left our bags and went to explore. Getting back to our room, I feel there is always a sense of excitement / nervous as you open the door for the first time! what will it be like? Will it look like the photos on the internet? Well the room was gorgeous, massive super comfy bed, clean bright colors and a beautiful bathroom, massive TV and a complimentary mini bar. Nice touch.

We stayed for three nights and EVERYONE from the maid to the receptionist was polite friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t try out much of the facilities as we were out all day but the food in the restaurant was nice and the room service was quick and of equal quality food as down stairs. The area around the hotel felt like the business district but did have a couple of pubs/bars on the same road, the main area is only a short walk away. Checkout was of equal ease and I would highly recommend staying here if you want to visit Glasgow.

Thank you for your kind comments about both the food and the staff, I will ensure that they are passed on. These are two areas in which the hotel takes great pride and I am delighted that we met with your expectation.

I do hope that we can welcome you back to the hotel in the near future.

This hotel has only been opened a few months but everything about it was superb. The decor in the public areas and the rooms was fantastic, the staff at reception and in the bar were great. We got a fantastic deal for bed and breakfast but would have been worth it at the full price. Food and drinks were great. We asked for breakfast in bed and this had no extra charge. We also had a mini bar (no alcohol) which was also complimentary with kitkats, skittles and pringles, great after a night out. All in all a great hotel in the heart of Glasgow, we will be back !!

Room Tip: Stay for more than one night

This hotel is in easy walking distance from Central train station, and the Kings Theatre. We stayed for a night on the way home from the north of Scotland, wished we had stayed on our way there as well. It is very different from other Holiday Inns we have stayed in, very modern and stylish.
Our room and bathroom was lovely, very comfortable although high bed, almost needed a step to get in. I liked the picture wallpaper on the wall into the bedroom.
The light under the sink in the bathroom we liked, as it didn't start the fan off at night.
The bathroom had a large walk in shower with a choice of two different shower heads, normal or overhead drench type - lovely. Thick fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers with really nice toiletries.
We had a lovely meal before the theatre, a tasty goats cheese and beetroot salad starter was something we would eat again and recommend to anyone. The sea bass and salmon were delicious too.
Breakfast isn't cheap (which hotel breakfast is?) But was also very well cooked and presented, A good choice of continental breakfast with lovely good quality yoghurts, fresh fruits as well as all the other usual offerings
All the young staff all seemed friendly and keen to help, were obviously newly trained .
Can't understand a previous complaint about the smell in the rooms and corridors, yes there is a lovely new smell, would they prefer a dirty stale smell? We loved being in a 'new' hotel.

I stayed here for two nights in June. I was in Glasgow for business for two long days so decided to stay in the city rather than travelling back and forth from Fife both days. There weren't a lot of options for places to stay when i was booking the day before so I ended up here at Hotel Indigo, and opted to splash out on the Indigo Room (suite). I'm glad I did because everything about the hotel was fantastic. The check-in staff were very helpful and polite and we got through the check-in process in minutes. The lobby is an open area with the bar/restaurant looking out onto the street - i didn't spend any time there but it looked popular.

My room was on the fifth floor and it was a corner room with panoramic views. The suite including a comfortable sitting area, a large comfortable bed and a cracking en-suite with a big luxurious shower. Toiletries and towels were all very nice. The free minibar was a nice touch - and the contents were good quality as well so it felt as if the free minibar was actually worth something.

I ate room service both nights and on both occassions the food was very nice and did not feel over-priced (unlike many room service meals i've had).

Location is very good - a few minutes walk from central station. Although there are restaurants and bars in the blocks around the hotel it doesn't feel busy or noisy (although that part of the city centre is only a few minutes walk away if you want it).

All in all i had a fantastic few nights in Hotel Indigo. I had no complaints and would happily stay at the hotel again.

Room Tip: Try the room service!

We booked online and paid in advance so got a good deal. We were down for the Take That gig at hampden. The hotel put on a special two course menu with cocktail for the gig night for £18 per head. Limited menu but well presented and excellent quality. The staff were very professional, but still chatty and up for a laugh. The rooms were immaculate and very modern with the comfiest bed i've ever slept in. The hotel uses a car park across the street where you get a 50% discount on your parking. Parked nice and secure for about 26 hours and only cost £9.50. Very pleased about everything at this hotel and will definately be staying here again in the future.

We live in Glasgow but had decided at the last miinute to go into Glasgow and stay the night - I wanted to try the hotel as I had heard about it.

The hotel is in a great location and only a few minutes walk from Central Station and great shops!!

The hotel meets all your expectations and more. The staff are lovely and can not do enough for you.

We arrived about 1800 and went straight down to the bar for a look round - the hotel is just beautiful with bright colours and lovely decoration. We ended up sitting in bar and then eating in the hotel and never went out of the hotel.

The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service was good. Also try the cocktails

In the morning we had breakfast in bed which was a nice treat.

Could not fault the hotel and will certainly return.

I stayed at the indigo hotel last night and it was absolutely stunning!

The hotel packaged was booked online and we had a really good deal for the overigh stay with evening diner and breakfast included and i have to say the standard was brilliant. Excellet choice of food on the menu and it was beautiful including the breakfast after a hard night out on the town! :)

the rooms were gorgeous, the decor, facilities and modern touch put the icing on the cake - everything from the ipod docking station, aveda products, cosyness of the beds made it so nice!

we were thoroughly iimpressed and would definately return back to this hotel, a gem smack bang in the city centre!

The staff were also very pleasant and helpful :)
