“Good staff, average hotel - won't be back”
Reviewed 16 April 2012

We stayed here for the weekend and whilst the staff are all very friendly & helpful, the building itself very grand & the decor modern & tasteful I have to say I was a little underwhelmed - especially given its #1 ranking.

Rooms at first appeared reasonably spacious but then we noticed the following problems that should have been sorted out for a hotel in this class;-

Bathroom was a little compact with only a walk-in shower (a bath option would be nice, especially given some of Glasgow's weather)
There was no stand for luggage / bags so these just blocked the floor.
Wardrobe space was almost non-existant (just 4 hangers & about 18" of closet space)
Aircon couldn't readily be adjusted & not at all below 19 degrees, which (for me) made it too warm for sleeping. With window opened it was too noisy.
No pillow options (my partner found them too hard with no soft alternate that even Premier Inns will give you!)
Poor lighting for anyone wanting to apply make-up etc. & no light at all where the full length mirror is positioned.

Additionally, we reported on arrival that the shaving mirror light didn't work. Despite claiming that they offered an "immediate fix it now" policy this was never fixed! For a hotel of this supposed calibre I wouldn't have expected such shortcomings. It was ok but nothing special so I'm afraid we won't be returning any time soon.

Thank you for your review, please accept our apologies regarding your disappointment with your room size. The shaving mirror is not something that we can fix on site and have had to have the manufacturer replace the unit in the room that you occupied.

Great location. new hotel so everything is clean and new which is to be expected. We were in a family room 2 queen beds. Very tight squeeze, very little hanging space so lived out of a suitcase for 4 days. Breakfast was something to be desired. We are not big cooked breakfast people but when on holiday we do have the odd one. Our orders would come out in dribs and drabs sowe never ate at the same time. Sometimes we never received cooked items. When you mentioned it to staff they were very apologetic but that was it. I opened a priority club card before going. They game us nothing extra for this. Waste of time.

Room Tip: If travelling with family make sure you have a bigger room.

After reading the many fantastic reviews of this property on Trip Advisor I had high hopes. It may have just been an "off" day, but I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. Location wise it is fantastic; i.e. less than 5 minutes walk from Glasgow Central Train Station. All shops, bars, and restaurants are within walking distance. The property is new and the condition of the rooms reflect this.

Staff were friendly; however, various issues need to be highlighted. The most serious being in respect of "cleanliness". Already on my 2nd room (due to the 1st room being unsuitable) I pulled back the covers on my king sized bed to discover the previous guest's "special" hair was visible and highly prominent. This is a serious hygiene failure and completely unacceptable. The Duty Manager was equally as distressed by this as myself. Service recovery was excellent, I was moved to a suite and comped Breakfast. That being said this is something I describe as a "red line" event. As such it is highly unlikely I would return to this establishment.

I feel I must say something about Priority Club recognition. It seems to me that recognition for Platinums is non existent. I was upgraded to the suite by way of service recovery; however, Platinum Status entitles a space available upgrade in any event. On check in the agent was actually trying to upsell me this upgrade, which is not appropriate in my opinion. Platinums were offered no drinks vouchers, or any other form of recognition. Not good enough.

Also of note was the intermittent nature and (at times) complete failure of the complimentary wireless internet, which is an integral feature of the Indigo brand.

Mini bars at this property are free; however, they don't advertise it or make it clear. The in room directory does make it clear though.

Room Tip: Take a room on a higher floor for natural daylight and mobile phone reception.

Please accept our apologies for the disappointment you experienced. I would assure you that all bed linens are changed between guests departing and new arrivals, so the possibility of anything from a previous guest is not possible. The priority upgrades are only to the next level of room type and we did not have any superior or deluxe rooms available when you checked in. I am pleased that you found the service recovery by our team was 'excelllent' Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback

We spent 3 nights at this hotel on our first trip to Glasgow. The hotel is extremely stylish ,clean and welcoming. The check in was exceptional and Colm was very friendly and helpful with tips about the city.We were upgraded which made our trip even more special, and loved the complimentary mini bar with very reasonable room service .The room was fabulous and had a huge bed and a comfy chair along with a great bathroom robes and slippers.I cannot recommend this hotel enough ,if you are looking for a city centre hotel then go for the Indigo brand ,Especially if you are in Glasgow .

Room Tip: Go for the executive rooms you will not be disappointed

Great hotel and a great room, I have stayed here twice now and will stay again.

Only slight downside is that the free computers are in the window so anyone can walk past and peer in.

But otherwise the staff are friendly and the restaurant for breakfast and evening meals were great

our first visit to Glasgow and we weren't disappointed. Staying at the Indigo just added to our overall enjoyment. The room was spacious-two queen beds for ourselves and our son. Everything you could need in a room was available-our son appreciated the complimentary mini-bar! It's location is very central yet set on a quieter street so it isn't noisy. The hotel is very stylish and offers good value for money. We had a very good B and B rate-our son was free! The only complaint was breakfast was very slow when you ordered from the cooked menu-we appreciate they were busy but one morning we had to wait 50 minutes-it was obviously a mistake as other families arrived and left before us! however the relaxed atmosphere of the breakfast area made you forget how long you had been waiting-delicious pot of coffee and newspapers!
