“Limelight Restaurant”
Reviewed 18 August 2012

If you are looking for excellent service and a wide variety of dishes, look no further. Presentation of dishes could not be faulted. What could be deemed as basic fish and chip, was served in an unusual manner, in a metal basket. Everyone dining, came away thinking, what great value. Food quality is excellent and quantity about right. Our Server was Lynda and was very knowledgeable when it came to enquiries about the pictures adorning the walls. She is a great asset to the business and will be returning again very soon.

This is a very nice four-star hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, with a very comfortable king-size bed. The bathroom was very clean, but had the usual brain-damaged European style shower that cannot be closed, so you inevitably flood the bathroom floor. There is coffee and tea in the room, and the coffee is made by heating a pot of water and using a French-press coffee maker -- a very nice touch.

Our rate included wifi and breakfast. The wifi was fast, although the signal strength in our room was weak. The breakfast was a choice of the usual full-English (with Scottish sausage) or a light continental buffet.

A feature of the hotel is the artwork which covers the walls in the hallways and also in the rooms. It is quite excellent and tastful and added a bit of flair to the hotel.

The location is excellent -- three blocks from Glasgow Central (rail) and right in the heart of the city.

Room Tip: We booked on hotels.com and got a lower rate than what the front-desk was quoting.

This is a great hotel in the center of Glasgow. Just few minutes from the Central Station, which is great when you arrive in Glasgow by train.
The staff at the hotel is very nice and helpful and the rooms are nice and clean, and the minibar is free.

Stayed here for two nights at the beginning of August with my husband. The hotel is lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and well equipped. The shower room was stunning and the toiletries were from White Company. We were on the fifth floor so there was no outside noise. Breakfast was good. Had a meal on one of the nights which was lovely but the portions were a bit too small for my husband.
Great location near to everything. Would thoroughly reccommend this hotel. We will be back.

Had a special overnight stay at this lovely hotel in the heart of Glasgow, 2mins. walk from Central Station. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The decor is very attractive with may portraits of famous scots, many of which gave us fun deciding who they were and discussing them. Rooms were very beautifully done with large bathrooms/showers. Resturant was spacious and had a lovely welcoming feel to it. The food in the evening and at breakfast was delicious. Prices fro drinks was reasonable. Great experience. I wish the staff well with this venture.

The outside was not particularly impressive, but once we stepped inside, we immediately saw why the hotel has been rated so highly. The service was impeccable--even before we arrived. When I checked the previous evening to see if there was any possibility of us checking in early the next day, I was told that the hotel was fully booked and that this was unlikely. The kind lady did offer to ring us the next morning as soon as she had a better idea of when a room would be available. The room itself was well appointed, with modern furnishings and a superbly comfortable bed. Internet is free--not lightning fast but adequate. Queen Street Station is a 15-min. walk; Central Station 10-min. Getting to/from the airport is extremely easy. Bus 500 drops you a block away from the airport and picks you up just a few steps from the front door on the way back to the airport. Overall, highly recommended.
