Reviewed 5 March 2013

My friend and I decided to pamper ourselves between Christmas & New Year with a little city-break to catch up with other friends and have some relaxation in peace and quiet away from the madness.

And relax we certainly did.

Hotel Indigo is a brilliant hotel - so centrally located (100m from Central Station & not far off the M8), with Q Car Park opposite (24hr - discount from hotel), pleasant staff at the desk, lovely & modern decor (ok, it's very pink, but personally I love it - take the positives, it's modern and current!) and great bar - cocktails ahoy!

With regards the rooms - we had booked a double double on special offer - double bed each - check! Complimentary water - check! Modern bathroom with toiletries - check (although note, it's a walk in shower not bath - personally I prefer this, but I know not everyone does)! Tv with plenty of channels, radio with ipod/iphone dock, mini bar, ironing facilities, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities (more tea bags would have been nice tho!), desk area, chair etc. Large mirror.

All in all, we were very happy with our room - although it was long rather than wide so didn't feel extremely spacious. Don't get me wrong, this wasn't a problem - it's just an observation.

The restaurant (Limelight) was great - and nice and busy which was good to see (given the choice in Glasgow) - and the bar service open late enough for us!!

Good lift service to all floors. There is a small gym too - which I used on a previous stay - great to have.

Seriously good hotel - I know it can be pricey normally but if you can get a reasonable rate - choose it over the others! It is worth it!

As my trip to Glasgow was my first, I wanted to go with a hotel that was a little more hip. Hotel Indigo fit that requirement beautifully. Everyone has commented on the fact that each floor has a different colour scheme -- my room was red. Very fun, yet sophisticated. Everyone has commented on how comfortable the beds are -- I have to agree. The sheets feel like they are egyptian cotton, just lovely and the mattress was a dream. The bathroom was very modern, complete with great smelling products. Regarding wi-fi, I have read that some guests had connectivity challenges, but I didn't have any issues whatsoever. The ipod dock that was supposed to have been heard in the bathroom didn't work, but I didn't care at all about that. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful Every time we would return from a day of sight seeing, we were always met with a friendly smile.

Limelight Bar & Grill was superb. I always feel somewhat lame eating at my hotel restaurant (it always seems so unadventurous), but I am glad I broke my own rule. The service was attentive without "hovering about". I had a filet that was cooked to perfection. Just exquisite. If you are planning on staying there -- do yourself a favour and a sign up for Limelight's Loyalty program -- it's worth 20% off your meal. This made an already reasonable meal an even better value. I didn't breakfast there, so I can't speak to the issues other have had with service and/or price.

For everyone coming into Glasgow from the airport -- the best deal is the round trip coach service. Very affordable -- actually, cheaper than taking their train system into Glasgow and more direct. Easy to use and picks you up a half a block from the hotel on your return.

In conclusion, I will definitely stay at Hotel Indigo the next time I am in Glasgow. Fresh, funky and hip -- but still very classy. A Win Win!

Staying with a group of 10 family and friends. Everything about the hotel was excellent, staff, service, rooms, location and best of all price. We got a 2 for 1 deal so about £100 for 2 nights. We ate out for most meals but we did have dinner in the hotel on the Sat night. Food was very good and service was excellent. Will def stay again at those prices.

i have stayed in this hotel on 2 occasions now, despite actually living in glasgow on birthdays my boyfriend and i love nothing more than a night out of the house and this hotel is beautiful!

the rooms are lovely with lots of nice little touches- like the wall paper being of glasgow and dim low level lights in the bathroom in case you get up in the night.

the beds are very comfortable and the caramel wafers in the minibar are a nice touch.

we have eaten in the hotel and the sharing platter as a starter is AMAZING and fills you up so much there is no need for a main course. the staff were friendly in the restaurant but scattered and confused and didnt really seem to know what they were doing. also the restaurant is too brightly lit at dinner so lacks ambience but the quirky pictures of scots are really cool!

breakfast has been disappointing on both occasions as everything was soggy and underdone even though we asked for things to be "almost burt" like a real glasgow breakfast.

havnt used the spa as we are too lazy to get out of bed before we have to!

all in all this hotel is excellent but het your breakfast from the wee cafe across the street! i will be back!

paid a silly £20 a night for us both to stay here! But would have easily paid 5 times as much and would have given the same review. Room was immaculate. good size. staff friendly without being overly so. Slept amazing which i dont usually do when away from home. Rain shower was fab only problem was we didn't know how to work it but we never asked! had a early start so didn't stay for breakfast though i liked that we didn't have to book in advance. within minutes walking distance from train station (took us less than 5mins). Would recommend to anyone. Fab hotel. looking forward to going back.

Just back from a weekend break with my husband. We had a very friendly welcome on arrival. We booked a King deluxe room. Room was lovely - very big with a huge bed and big flat-screened tv. Bathroom on the small side but it contained a large shower (with a choice of 2 shower heads) and a large sink. The room was very pleasantly decorated. All floors have a colour theme. The 4th floor rooms are pink. There are plenty of mirrors including a wall-mounted full length one.
Our minibar was stocked with the items detailed in previous comments and refilled on the second day. Ten minutes after checking in, a "welcome plate" was delivered to our room that contained 2 mini doughnuts, a sliced strawberry and some dipping chocolate. A lovely touch. A newspaper was delivered outside our room both mornings.
I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat in the hotel. We did consider doing so on our first night but the menu was relatively limited and did not suit my husband. Being in the city centre though meant we had only to travel a few minutes away to find a nice restaurant so this was not an issue to us. We ate out at a nearby wetherspoons for breakfast.
I cannot praise the bar staff and the reception staff highly enough. Everybody was very friendly and helpful.
The lobby and bar are one in the same. There is no door between the bar and the restaurant which means that there is no separation from functions that take place in the restaurant.
Overall, we thoroughly recommend this hotel for people who are looking for a nice hotel to stay in while they explore Glasgow. The car park is literally across the road from the hotel and guests receive a 25% discount voucher on departure if you ask for it.

Had a fantastic 2night stay in the Indigo. Hotel is so central to shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms are lovely one of the best we have stayed in Glasgow. Didn't eat in hotel as on a previous visit we felt uncomfortable eating in the restaurant due the staffs attitude towards us. Couldn't fault reception staff who were fantastic. Will definitely stay here again.
