“Amazing the crystal palace”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

It's a good place not only for children to explore more plants and flowers, but also for photographers who like the flowers.

The whole place is quiet when we visit. The crystal palace given us highly impressive image.

“Interesting.”

We were very impressed by both these facilities. The plants were imaginatively displayed and the labelling and information was good.

“Amazing Glasshouses to entertain whatever the weather”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Going to a 'garden' on a cold, rainy August day in the school holidays did not initially sound like a great idea. But when we rocked up at 10am it had just opened and we had it all to ourselves, and headed straight in to the amazing Victorian glasshouses (inc 'Kibble Palace').

We spend a good hour just going through these glasshouses - beautiful, enchanting, and educational! Don't miss out on the Killer Plants room full of carnivorous flora.

The teahouse makes a mean cuppa, but be sure to check whether the cakes are fresh - we went on a Monday morning and the new batches weren't ready so we had to be very picky about what we had or risk a curling-up pie, stale pastry or dry cake!
