I'd read some bad reviews of this hotel, so didn't no what to expect. We arrived to check in and couldn't find reception, but then found out it was in the bar, Had to climb a spiral staircase to our room, but this just added to the experience of the history of the building. Got shown by a lovely lady into a lovely room with three large windows, a large bed and my favourite, a chaise long. The views were amazing, a different historical view from every window. It was a bit shabby but it added to the charm of the place. We had a lovely steak dinner and a great breakfast next morning. The hotel staff were lovely and as we have tried lots of hotels in the city, we came home thinking how special this place is, and hope to go back soon.
