Great old building from the late19th century. There's a tavern on the first floor and the hotel rooms begin on the third: three long flights to ascend at the end of a long day of touring. The building has seen much better days: peeling paint, cheap floor covering and finishes but there's something quaint about a grand old building, down at its heels, It is, however, quite close to town (just near Glasgow Cathedral). Certainly, there's no luxury here but we had a great view of the necropolis behind the cathedral. It's also kind of kwirky being above the ground floor pub whose bar tender doubles as hotel clerk. Sort of like living in a 19th century bawdy house. Breakfast was ample and delicious. Not elegant but interesting.
