I booked into this hotel because of its proximity to the Royal Conservatorie.
It was fine and comfortable, internet access was good but the rooms were very dusty. So much so that I was actually hoarse when I was speaking.
I am pretty sensitive to these types of things but if a hotel is cleaned each day, as they usually are then this shouldn't be a problem

We spent 5 days in the hotel while the refurbishment was going on. Full marks to Head Office who e-mailed me a few weeks before arriving to warn me of the refurbishment. Very friendly staff who actually listened to what customers had to say. I was brought up in Glasgow so knew my way about but on many occasions the staff went out of their way to ensure customers could get where they wanted to and came up with some good ideas. The rooms are basic but gave us all that we needed for a decent stay. The new beds are very comfortable. The hotel is very convenient for the city centre with great shopping (should that be your thing) within easy walking distance. We'll be back next time we visit Glasgow.

This is one of Travelodge's refurbished hotels and because of this it's good: comfortable rooms with plenty of space to work (I spent quite a lot of time doing work in my room), and a good and reasonably priced food menu. It's in central Glasgow and opposite what appears to be some kind of student squat and yes there is a bit of noise on a Saturday night but the rooms are well insulated so it shouldn't bother you too much. Staff polite but (with one exception) not particularly friendly. If there's one thing Travelodge can improve on it's this. I'm due back in Glasgow again soon, would be happy to stay here again.

Refurbishment was going on when we arrived and indeed one couple were being relocated due to the fumes affecting their breathing! Staff were friendly and helpful if a little vague when it came to booking in. First room had a dirty cup with tea still in it and a handful of small change lying on the desk. Disconcerting thinking we had been given someone else's room. Of course my husband had to go down to the desk as there are no phones in the rooms and the staff member helped us move our luggage to another room.

Room was basic but with very little room to move around. There was space only for 1 person to squeeze past the bottom of the bed. No TV remote control. We asked for one when we went out for a walk and when we returned no one had noted the request. However, the receptionist did bring one up to the room soon after. The carpet was badly stained and the sheet had a couple of tears but the linen was clean.

We had dinner in the hotel and it was atrocious. Fish and chips ... literally fish and chips ... no peas or other veg. 2 pieces of poor quality frozen fish, the kind that is minced grey mush, and a handful of chips. Chicken and bacon salad was again frozen processed chicken pieces with bacon on a sad dry salad.

Breakfast the next morning was haphazard. We had no cutlery and had to ask twice for it. Food was fine with lovely bacon. Bread had to be toasted twice to put any colour at all on it and the juice was of poor quality. However, on our second day the tables were all set with cutlery and plates and the food was plentiful and hot. Very helpful young man placed my croissant in the oven rather than the microwave.

We had booked the Saturday night away back in February and paid £45 but for the Friday night we booked much nearer the time and it was £70. On both occasions it was an extra £7 ish each for breakfast. I don't consider that we had value for money, certainly not for the Friday night at £70.

As I said, the staff were friendly and helpful but overall the experience is one which I wouldn't choose to repeat.
