We only booked this hotel as we wanted somewhere cheap n’cheerful for a weekend concert break near Glasgow City Centre. The location could not be faulted – a few minutes walk to all the main shopping centres/restaurants/bars and nightlife.
Unfortunately the weekend that we stayed, the hotel was host to many groups of youngsters on stag and hen party weekends! Any thoughts of having a peaceful night’s sleep was shattered by all night room parties and slamming doors. The staff were apologetic but said that it was the “season for parties” and that there was little that they could do about the night time festivities! We’re not humbugs – but when a crowd come in from clubbing at around 4am and proceed to party in their rooms – loudly - until 6.30am then a sense of humour failure is imminent!

Leaving that aside, the hotel is still undergoing some form of renovation and there is much building work taking place on the lower floors. The hotel image is somewhat jaded by the appearance of large rubbish skips outside the main entrance.

The rooms are large and well appointed with very comfortable beds and all the facilities that are required in a budget hotel. The one disappointment was that the bathroom had no ventilation facilities and being internal with no windows – all the steam and bathroom vapours were wafted into the room for dispersal via the outside window!

Hotel facilities include a restaurant and bar which seemed popular with some guests – including the supply of late night pizzas to hungry drinkers! It was surprising to find that there are no telephones in the rooms, so there is no way of contacting reception other than physically going down to the desk – perhaps this is so that you can’t phone and complain about the noise! Hotel security is another issue – access is via reception – which in the main is unmanned. Anyone could walk into the premises with little fear of being challenged. It appears that in the evenings the reception staff double up to assist in the bar therefore leaving the entrance area without cover – another reason to always double lock your room door!

Room Tip: Don't book at weekends if you want a quiet break1

Stayed here for three nights with friends. The room was very clean, and the bed extremely comfortable, thanks to the recently refurbished rooms. Breakfast was very good, with all you could eat, with the exception of the orange juice, which was at room temperature. Maybe it was because the chiller wasn't switched on until morning. Dinner in the evenings was Not as good as other Travelodges I've stayed at, but this could have been down to a very limited no of staff. But I would definitely stay there again!

My friend and I stayed here when visiting Glasgow for a girl's night out. We booked quite late so paid £70 for the room - I don't think it was worth that. I visit Glasgow regularly and there are definitely better hotels available for that price.
The location is good - near Sauchiehall street but the street that the hotel is on isn't that nice. There's a carpark right across the road which cost about £13 per day.
The reception area was fine and airy and check in was quick but the room itself was very small and it felt 'old' and had abit of a stale smell. As did the lifts and corridors. It was clean though.
I've been in better Travelodges.

We stayed here for 1 night before the start of a two-week tour of the Hebridian Islands. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy with nice quality bedding. The en-suite bathroom was clean and the shower worked just fine! The room was a little on the small side, but we were not bothered because it was very cheap! The location is brilliant, it's a very short walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay here on our next visit to Glasgow.

Stayed here on 11/10/2013. Check in was quick and efficient. Room was compact, tidy and clean. Bed extremely comfortable. Before retiring we availed ourselves of the downstairs bar - prices were city centre norm and staff very pleasant. Had a very restful night and didn't hear any of the other guests. We paid extra for the "all you can eat" buffet breakfast which was basic, but plentiful and very tasty. I'm extremely pleased with what we got for the money we paid. I've stayed here before and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I'm not looking for luxury, just a convenient cheap place to get a good nights sleep in the middle of the city. This place fits the bill perfectly.

We stayed in a family room. It was adequate accommodation. Nothing fancy. But we were mainly sightseeing, not hanging around the hotel. The room was clean. Everything worked. We were a short stroll to the pedestrianized Sauchiehall Street. Fabulous! Booked months ahead and got rock bottom rates. I am a Travelodge fan for that reason.

I stayed there 02/10/2013
We were in glasgow for the rod stewart concert, just dumped our luggage and went out, so it was late that night b4 we noticed anything was wrong. Bathroom door wouldn't close, smoke alarm hanging by a thread, oh, and the doozey, i found a broken e-cig in the bed. I'd just moved the duvet and found 2 cylinder lumps under the sheet, and that was what i found ontop of the mattress. This to me says that the bed had not been changed!!
But according to customer services, my standards are to high
