The hotel is situated within mere blocks of lovely Kelvingrove Park and the art museum, with many nearby bars and eateries as well (may I recommend La Mora for dinner?). The shower drain was awful in room 6; not exaggerating. I had to stop halfway during my already quick showers to let it drain before the water runneth over! Otherwise, my stay was very pleasant. I found the hotel staff to be very friendly. No early check-in was granted for me, but the kind receptionist let me stow my luggage in the office for a few hours (check in was at 1:30) while I sauntered through the surrounding area. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room; I paid £8 each day and it was pretty standard. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

We are sorry that you had a problem with the drain in your shower during your stay, had you spoken to the manager about it we could have dealt with the problem at the time. The shower drains are deep cleaned on a weekly basis as well as the daily clean, however it does not take much to block them, the drain has been inspected today and found to be spotless and draining well. Early check ins do need to be booked in advance but guest's are very welcome to leave luggage as you did. Breakfast was not included as you had booked on a Room Only basis, at time of booking you would have had the option to choose either Room Only or Bed & breakfast. We do appreciate your kind remarks regarding the staff and thank you for commenting that you would recommend us to friends, we hope to see you again in the future.

We stayed in this hotel for one night while attending a concert at the Hydro. It was within easy walking distance of the venue. Good variety of restaurants and bars nearby. The receptionist is a riot! He has a good knowledge of the area and has plenty anecdotes of the city to relate. The room was spacious, clean and modern. The breakfast was plentiful with the food cooked to order. Free wifi available. I would certainly use The Kelvingrove again when staying over in Glasgow.

We stayed at the Kelvingrove hotel for 1 night after attending a concert at the hydro, great location for the hydro we managed to walk back to the hotel in about 15 mins! Room was very clean and also free wifi which come in very handy for putting the pictures up after the concert! Breakfast served in the morning was very tasty and would recommend this!

Two of my friends and I were spending six days in Kelvingrove hotel. It was clean, the beds were cosy, the bathroom was also clean. As we were attending a congress, the location was just perfect for us. The city centre is also a short walk from the hotel. Definitely recommend it!

I stayed at the kelvingrove in April for 2 nights with friends.
At first the room seemed nice, As we looked around more, the floor needed a good Hoover, the bathroom needed an overhaul and the place needed a thorough deep clean. The maid never made our beds, or cleaned it had seemed. The staff were great, very helpful and attentive (sometimes a pain) Reasonable price, but the location isn't the best if you want to be in the centre of the hustle and bustle.
Every time you ran the tap, flushed the toilet and had a shower this dreadful loud noise would go on and on for sometimes 5 minutes, to an hour (waking us up at 6am)!! We also selected late check out, but when we got there we were told we couldn't get that as our room was being occupied that day.
Over all I wouldn't stay here again, it felt unclean, and the room was noisy.

We are at a loss as to why you seemed to think that the hotel was very far away from the hustle ande bustle as you put it, the hotel is located on Sauchiehall Street which is the longest street in Glasgow, there are many pubs, bars and restaurants located around the hotel within a 5 min radius. With regard to the late check out, unfortunately it is not always possible to allow a late check out, our check out time is 11am, and on this occasion on the day you were checking out we were fully booked for that night which meant we had to have the rooms ready in a timely manner, I am sure if when you arrived to check in and were told you had to wait as someone had not yet checked out you would not have been very happy so that is why we had to refuse on this occasion. The standard of cleanliness in our rooms is something we monitor constantly, Mr McQuade, the owner, has himself checked all the rooms and is more than satisfied with the standard he found, the rooms are checked daily by the duty manager's, weekly by the Area Manager and monthly by Mr McQuade this regime is in place to ensure that the standards are maintained. Regarding the noise at 6am, we cannot investigate this as we do not know what was causing the noise, if it had been reported at the time we could have done something about it.
