We was on a road trip holiday and had booked to stay here on the Monday. Three days into our trip. We had just had a massive crash in the car and had had an afternoon of trying to sort the car out and calming outselfs down. We made it to the hotel and found its actually on a roof of the street below and had to walk around what look like a squat for homeless people at the side.
Walk into the hotel to find they had put us in room 13! We laugh and said what had happened but didn't even get asked if we was ok. Wasnt talkative or looked even bothered. Finally climbed 3 flights of stairs, which even a fit person would find hard.

So the room. Very tiny, the bathroom was clean but the shower had very little power and dripped out. The bed was hard and one very flat pillow. As we was at the top of the building the ceiling was very low and had to duck when getting out of the other side of the bed.
Breakfast wasn't to great either. Full Scottish breakfast but they use turkey rashers but don't state what the sausages are made of?
Would never go back. Glad we was only there one night.

This hotel had lovely staff and they made you feel welcome. But on first appearances I was disappointed. The outside was shabby and needs good make over. The hotel is clean and gives you what you need. But I hated the spiral steep stairs and with luggage they killed you. I know the house is old but I am fit but them stairs were terrible. I would hate to see elderly
people with luggage have to walk up them. But the staff were again first class .

This hotel is in a decent area close to Glasgow University, Great Western Road and Byres Road. The price is very reasonable for a UK city. Unfortunately, the positives stop there.

After a long day travelling, we got to this hotel and had to wait in the main lobby room for 15 minutes for someone to appear to check us in (this despite numerous rings of the attention bell). When life did finally materialise, they gave no apology.

The hotel itself looks pleasant enough on initial viewing. But look closer and the standard of cleanliness is rather low. Grot and grime is widespread and the decor is quite ragged and unkempt. There is no lift and so getting to the upper floors is annoying even for able bodied persons with limited luggage. I can only imagine the problems anyone with physical difficulties or lots of luggage would have. Bathroom is on the small side and needing more care - our toilet had a large, quite gross brown mass lodged firmly to the bottom. It came with no smell, but was certainly off putting.

Breakfast is OK but a little plain. I've had English Breakfasts all over the UK and this one is a bit bland.

Overall, it's not horrible by any means but in real need of a clean. It feels neglected.

Very good, clean room airy and bright. No noise from other guests well sound proofed rooms.Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very adequate and well presented. Great location for the west end of Glasgow but due to the proximity to two subway stations great for going into the city centre. Only fault we could find was the shower was impossible to get hot and due to the early breakfast and limit on our time was a disappointment. Mentioned it to the reception staff on leaving and received an apology and suggested to him that possibly instructions could be provided for future guests. He stated that the shower would be checked. We stayed in room 7. We were very lucky and managed to get a Hotel parking space as they are limited.

Room Tip: Check your shower on arrival unfortunately we did not have time due to rushing from work and going t...
