I've stayed at the Heritage before, and the rooms were a bit scruffy. But they've had a refurb and my room was a stunning bargain for the single rate of £38 a night. It was clean and well decorated, with a new flat TV. So, well worth the money - though the woman at reception was initially less than welcoming - does a smile cost anything?. Be warned, there are aspects of the breakfast which are horrible; the turkey rashers, rather than real bacon, are a big mistake and the suspiciously red sausages are the devil's work. Avoid!. But if you're happy with a breakfast minus sausage and bacon, then this hotel is a good budget choice for the West End of Glasgow. It's on Great Western Road between Kelvinside and Hillhead stations on the underground, so easy to get to, and a short stroll from the Botanic Gardens. There's a nearby Persian restaurant for lovely - and cheap - dinners.

Great choice for a short break in Glasgow. Really close to a bus stop and subway that take you 10 min to downtown. Walking distance to a main street with grocery store, nice restaurants and stores.

Our room was big, clean and very comfortable as we required in the main floor. My husband could not climb the lugage trough the stairs. they are beautiful, but it could be a nightmare if you have a heavy suitcase!

I really recomend it and I can stay again if I come back to Glasgow!

Pleasant, clean hotel. Friendly staff. Ideally located in the west end. Breakfast was adequate apart from the "turkey rashers"...(what's wrong with real bacon?) and I was offered extra toast. Room was clean and comfortable.

My boyfriend and I always go to Ashton Lane for Valentine's Day, and although we only live in Hamilton it usually costs us about £35 in travel between us (trains, subway, taxi home) so this year we thought we'd try find a cheap place to stay nearby instead. After looking on here, we booked The Heritage Hotel for one night for £40 - bargain.

We were very pleasantly surprised with it; right on Great Western Road and literally five minutes walk from Ashton Lane! There are only two car park spaces, but there was only one car there so we got the other space.

The room was really big, with a double bed, single bed, dressing table, two large chairs, big bay window, LCD TV and big bathroom!! It was lovely. Check in was very easy, the lady on reception offered no information on Glasgow or anything, not that we needed it as we practically live there, but for foreigners this might have been nice.

You have to hand your key in when leaving to go out, but it's a 24 hour reception so you can came in anytime and get it. However, straight after checking in and dumping our bags we went for a little drink at the Oran Mor (five mins walk) and when we came back, we just said "room 18" and got given the key, no questions asked. It was a different lady from check in so she wouldn't have recognised us at all but still handed over the key without asking for any identification or proof or anything.

We went to breakfast right at the tail end of it (8.20 - it runs til 8.30) but were served promptly and efficiently. My boyfriend had a full cooked breakfast, a cereal, a cup of coffee and fresh fruit. I had scrambled eggs and toast with orange juice - all perfectly nice.

The bed was also great, really comfy and warm. Had no problems sleeping at all, no noise from outside or anywhere else in the hotel.

Would definately go here again, and am actually thinking of booking up to stay there after my graduation ball this summer, which is at the Oran Mor. It's a great place to stay for a short visit to the West End.
