Stayed here for just one night whilst on a business trip to Glasgow. The hotel is well-situated for access from the M8. It is just one stop away from Glasgow Central station with a journey time of just 10 minutes into the city centre.

The a la carte dinner selection is quite restricted; we'd have liked to choose from the bar/lounge menue but wished to eat in the dining room.

Breakfast was the usual self-selection for cold choice and cooked-to-order for the hot selection. I chose smoked salmon with scrambled eggs which was excellent.

The building is an interesting old merchant's house with wood panelled walls and high ceilings. Public areas are furnished in the strangest miss-matched style and is looking very tired. The bedroom was comfortably furnished and very clean. The bathroom looked to have been recently refurbished, no bath but a double-width shower.

We'd happily return here.

My wife and I stayed at Sherbrooke Castle Hotel for our one year anniversary. Just a short trip out of Glasgow city, the hotel is in a convenient location. We were a bit dissapointed at first when we discovered the room wasn't actually in the castle. We had booked a suite online and were given a key to a garden suite, which inside actually felt more like a room from a 4 or 5 star hotel. The room was recently renovated, generously furnished, featured a flat panel tv and had a large shower. The bed was comfortable too. The restaurant inside the castle had excellent service, a warm, quiet and relaxed atmosphere. For breakfast, there was a large selection to choose from, including freshly prepared servings. At the discounted online booking rate, this place represented great value for money.

We booked the hotel through the tourist office at the last minute. As there were not any room in our booked price range due to a wedding, the reception automatically upgraded us to the suite upstairs. And the experience just got better and better from there.

We were given the best service. They even offered free laundry service (not dry cleaning). As the castle is away from the city, it's nice to stay out of the crowd for a while. The train is about five minutes walk and it takes you right to the city, but if you have a car, there is free parking. We were lazy and did not wish to go to the city much, so we had all the meals in the hotel most of the time, and they were great.

The suite has a sky window, which was so nice at night because we could see the snow falling on to the roof.

Free WIFI, parking, excellent service, great food, big rooms, comfortable bed, a bath and a shower, a living room to relax, coffee and tea, warm and cozy, what else could you ask for for only 90 pound?

My wife and i were married in the hotel on 03/10/10 and it was the most fantastic experience!! We had our ceremony and evening reception there and it all went really well, the staff are extremely helpful, the meal we had was fantastic. Everybody said the wedding and function was amazing and i tried to thank all the staff individually because they all do their jobs very professionally but discretely. Our master of ceremonies needs a huge thanks because with all his efforts the day and night flew past with no fuss at all. The hotel and grounds are exquisite and well worth the money. If you want a nice relaxing meal then it has an excellent restaurant too(we have used it before).
Hopefully if i save up some cash i can take my wife there for our 1st anniversary.
Please go,its brilliant.......

My wife and I spent hogmanay 2010 at this hotel as we were attending a New Year party in town. There is ample car parking situated around the hotel so there is only a short stroll to reception. The Sherbrooke Castle Hotel is an imposing building in a quiet suburb of Glasgow but only a few minutes drive from the motorway. We had a large corner room with all the normal facilities and a very large bathroom with a roll top bath and generous sized shower. Our daughter joined us for dinner in the hotel restaurant where we were treated to a very traditional and cosy room heated by a real coal fire. The service was faultless and the food and wine was of the highest standards. Being New Year's Day the next morning the hotel changed it's normal breakfast time to an extended brunch time from 9am to 1pm. We enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to stay there again.

The Sherbrooke hotel is housed in an absolutely magnificent Victorian building, which is very impressive as you approach the hill on which it sits. The public areas are beautiful and richly decorated, but the spacious rooms are a little “hotely,” and in places the wallpaper is pealing. The beds, however, are exceptionally comfortable. The hotel has a reasonably-priced menu; we had an excellent meal there.

The train station into downtown Glasgow is just down the hill, so the location is very convenient. A taxi ride into town will cost about £10. There is on-site parking as well.

We recently spent 12 days touring London and Scotland. Our final day before departure we stayed overnight at this lovely establishment. The guest rooms were the best, with a King bed, large room and upscale marble bathroom. Dinner in the dining room is a must with wonderful service, excellent food and atmosphere. A beautiful fireplace, elegant furnishings and breakfast is also included. What more could anyone want.
The hotel also has 2 bars and library/lounge area.
It is so close to the airport, we were relaxed and on our way to the airport in minutes.
A real find located in a charming neighborhood. We cannot wait to return
