Dreadful receptionist, dirty room, cups and bathroom were disgusting, I stayed for about 5 minutes then decided to leave - I was charged for the room - do not book this "hotel" it is an embarrassment to Scotland

Excellent small budget hotel. Booked a single room, got a triple, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. No complaints whatsoever. Others on here have griped at the stairs - there are a lot of them, but they are shallow and wide and didn't present a problem. Close to bus-stop, shops and excellent restaurants very close at hand. Kelvingrove Park literally around the corner, and a 10 min walk from Byers Road/Hillhead subway stop. Got an excellent price from e.bookers and would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap, comfortable stay in the West End. Thanks, Sandyford, I will be back.

My friend and i stayed here for one night with our two young sons,as we were attending a concert in the SECC.The location for which was ideal,an easy 10-15 minute walk.On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant and extremely helpful female member of staff. The rooms were clean and had all we needed for the one night stay. The breakfast which was included in the fair price was fantastic. The minor complaints we had were some flaws in the rooms, being one of the bathrooms was needing some attention and the curtains in the other had a cigarette burn and need replacing.

Just spent three great nights at the Sandyford. Wonderful location, close to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the West End and not too far from city centre either. Clean, tidy comfortable room; friendly staff; great choice of breakfasts; excellent value for money. Will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We were facing the mnain road but any noise did not trouble us at all..

I was seeking a cheap hotel near the West End for 2 nights, and stumbled across this hotel on a hotel comparison site. For £30 a night the hotel represents amazing value.
The building itself is an old style 'house', a traditional type building, so as such once you get into the corridors and up and down the stairs, it is a bit of a rabbit warren! Checking in was no problems, a nice welcoming reception area with seating, tea and coffee machine and loads of reading materials and a very friendly guy on the reception desk. I was assigned a room on the top floor, so with no lifts off I trecked...some 90 odd stairs I would have thought with the last stretch quite steep. This was no issue for me as I only had a small bag, but folks folks with heavier bags/or elderly this could be an issue so bear that in mind when booking. The room itself was very nice. 2 single beds, very comfy, open wardrobe, tea and coffee tray, small plasma, two leather chairs. The bathroom was very small (shower and wc)but adequate. The room was average size with a sloping roof and velum windows. Just bear in mind the maids leave the windows slightly open (and the vents at the top) obviously to air the room and unless you clsoe you may get some traffic noise from the main street, but if you close this there is no noise. It was very peaceful (heard no noise at all over 2 nights). Breakfast is served in the basement and comprises a small self service selection of cereals, breads, drinks etc, and a table service of cooked breakfast, which comes fresh, warm and tasty...very good service! So all in all for a budget hotel this really is an excellent choice, far excelling the travelodges out tehre and offering a very good option for the budget traveller. (Oh and bars and restaurants very close by too! and walk to Byers Road about 20 minutes, to City Centre allow 30-40 mins)

We chose this hotel as it is within easy walking distance (10mins) of the S.E.C.C. We had searched the internet and read Tripadvisor comments prior to our decision to stay. What a complete surprise when we arrived not knowing what to expect. We received a very friendly welcome from reception staff, the reception area is clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was exceptionally clean and again well decorated - bathroom spotless, with very hot water in shower and from taps. Very comfy bed and a good night's sleep. Breakfast was massive - full Scottish. We have stayed in far more expensive hotels belonging to hotel chains(MacDonalds/Hilton etc), and this was a far superior breakfast. Overall this was an excellent experience in the heart of Glasgow.

Room Tip: We had room 001 (in basement)which was very quiet and no traffic noise.

Had a quick trip for a football match. Excellent for the price and breakfast included which was plus. Long walk to town center but buses available. Excellent services, pubs, and eating around the hotel. No elevator so got my exercise going up stairs. Would stay again!

Room Tip: no elevators so lower floor if needed.
