we visited this hotel on 25 august 2012 - we knew it was no frills.
first room in attic which at 5ft 10 was no good and shower was in a cupboard
2nd room was okay but bathroom old and very tired and not very clean.
Fawlty towers comes to mind in the morning for breakfast as we arrived to find most
tables full of dirty dishes and the 2 waitresses chatting in corner - no glasses for juice
no plates for toast and hot yoghurts... chaos rules!!!!!!!!!! never again

Me and my partner were just staying a couple days in Glasgow and just wanted a basic hotel near the city centre. From the outside it may not seem like much but the rooms are clean, good sized, well decorated, the bed was VERY comfy , flat screen with tv , full breakfast and the staff were very helpful. Best of all the location is 5 min from town centre. We definitely recommend.

Room Tip: For those with lot of bags ask for a room on a lower floor since there is no elevator

I stayed here for one week while working in Glasgow. The property is located in an excellent location on Sauchiehall Street near one of the entrances to Kelvingrove Park and within walking distance of a number of great attractions, restaurants, and clubs. What sets this property apart from larger hotel chains is the staff. They are all extremely welcoming and quick to offer you their insights into navigating the city of Glasgow. The owner is very kind and will offer is assistance whenever solicited. My room was extremely comfortable and spacious with tea/coffee, flat-panel tv, and nice en-suite. Both continental and hot breakfasts are offered. The food is excellent and makes for a great start to the day. After traveling outside of Glasgow for a few days, I returned to Glasgow and stayed here for the final two nights of my trip for a total of nine nights. I definitely recommend this hotel to travelers to Glasgow. It is excellent value for the money. I will most definitely stay here when I return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not directly on the main street. I am a heavy sleeper, so I did not lose any sleep...

Stayed for two nights at the Sandyford - hotel foyer has comfortable seating and free teas. coffees etc for guests to relax in which is good. The hotel is clean and the bedrooms clean, showers good and tea/coffee and tv in each room. Breakfasts were very good with a choice of fruits, yoghurt, breads and cooked breakfast. Would certainly stay here again when in Glasgow.

Stayed here quite a few times and the hotel is great. Staff are great and the hotel is clean. Stayed in a couple of fantastic rooms, very large and also one room which was slightly smaller which was not so great but was clean and gave you what you wanted. The breakfast was brilliant. The location of this hotel is great. Not right in the city centre but close enough to walk if you wanted to and not much in a taxi. Really good value.

We stayed at this hotel on the 7th / 8th of July for a night as a stop over for our trip the next day to the Loch Lomond. It is located near the Buchanan bus station. Its on the quiet part of Sauciehall street with all clubs, pubs, restaurants of any type, casinos, shops, cinemas just a few minutes walk at the other end of Sauciehall street.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious, the bathroom was clean.

Breakfast was delicious and you always get more and more.

The downside is that this hotel has no bar but there are loads of bars / pubs nearby.

We'll definitely stay here again if we visit Glasgow another time.
