I held my daughter's baptism reception at the Number 10 hotel on Sunday 25th August and would really recommend it for this type of event. It's the perfect size, the function room is beautifully decorated, and if you get a nice day, the grounds out the back (inc. gazebo) are great to let little ones run around. We hired a bouncy castle, there was plenty of room for this also.
We picked a finger buffet, and having had many bad ones over the years, I was really surprised at how lovely this was, and a lot of my guests commented too. As I had so many kids attending, they also accomodated my wish to have a kids food table which went down really well.
The glass fronted entry area to the hotel is lovely to greet guests with champagne etc, really nice welcome.
Linda the events manager couldn't be there on the day due to holidays, but we were really well looked after by William the general manager, nothing was too much trouble.
Great venue in Glasgow's south side for this type of event.

We stayed at the number 10 Hotel for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The facilities in our room was great.
We loved the décor of the building.
The price for our stay was a good rate.
The breakfast was fantastic with a great amount of different varieties to suit everyone.
We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely stay there again in the near future.
Thank you to all the staff for making our stay very welcoming.

I had my husbands surprise 30th birthday here on the 3rd August 2013 and I can't thank the staff enough for everything they done to help me (in particular Chris who was so well organised) from setting the function room up and being so attentive during the evening then gathering all my things together and keeping them safe until the next day. The food provided by them at the buffet was delicious and was commented on by everyone at the party! I would certainly recommend this hotel in every way and will definitely be having more family functions here in the future.

After a long and tiring journey from the midlands we booked into the hotel late on a Sunday evening. The staff went out of their way to make us welcome and organised somewhere for us to eat ( the kitchen had closed ). All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly at all times and the room clean and comfortable. We will be back!

We stayed the room at the top of the house for 2 nights for the wedding on Sat 28th. I just wanted to thank everyone for their excellent service and doing everything to make our stay perfect.  Our room was lovely with the most amazing hotel bathroom I had ever seen until I saw the bride and grooms!  All the staff were lovely from the lady at reception to whom absolutely nothing is too much bother to the dining room staff.  The wedding itself was fantastic and the food and service staff were all great.  I am under no illusion that this all just happens and I am sure the owner who was there to oversee the whole thing just makes it look easy.

I have never stayed on this side of Glasgow before but what a nice surprise.  The lovely Queens park is across the road and a 15 minute walk with a 2 year old to restaurants and shops in Shawland’s.

We were very lucky to find a room here at short notice in peak season. (We had terminated a less than enjoyable visit at the Hilton Garden Inn.)

Plus points:
1) The restaurant is superb; we ate there two out of the three evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed every course; the chef certainly knows what s/he is doing!
2) The Queen's Park area must be one of the most attractive not just in Glasgow, but in any city. The hotel is a short hop away from Crosshill station (on the Cathcart Circle line), and it is a slightly longer, but pleasant walk, along Queen's Drive to reach Victoria Road, and also Pollokshaws Road (where there is an excellent Indian Restaurant at no. 777, called Shimla Pinks). Immediately across the road from the hotel is a path which will take you to the side of Queen's Park - there is a road to cross before reaching the side entrance.
3) The staff in reception and the restaurant were all friendly and helpful.
4) Room 9 (overlooking the garden at the back) was comfortable, and suitable for two or three nights. We'd need to have a slightly larger room for a longer stay.

... but a note of warning: avoid room 14 !
We had to move to room 14 for our last night. This smaller room is not nearly so nice, as it faces the road at the front. the double-glazed windows looked to be an old unit in need of replacing. It did not seem to soundproof the traffic at all. The double bed is on the short side, and for some reason one of the walls and the curtains are black. This room can barely be called a double, and it was a struggle not to bump into the TV cabinet en route to the toilet in the middle of the night.

I'd advise people ttherefore o make sure they book into a quiet, more spacious room.

Room Tip: The back rooms are much quieter

What boded so well from previous posts and first impressions from outside, went downhill after that.
Reception staff were friendly and efficient but had no local knowledge of bars, restaurants etc.
We had room 33 and were very disappointed. The room was constantly stuffy. We had to have the back door open to allow fresh air in.
The mattress on the bed was atrocious and felt like it was 100 years old. I had to put a duvet under the sheet to try to smooth out the lumps and bumps.
Our bathroom did not have a bath as others stated and there was no differentiation between shower floor and bathroom floor and although there was a shower curtain the whole floor got wet. There was also no shelving of any kind so your toiletries bag had to sit on the toilet cistern.
And since when does a toilet not have a toilet roll dispenser???? Unheard of.
Also there was a constant strange odour in the bathroom.
The local area is nice and quiet with Crosshill station two minutes walk away. 3 stops to Glasgow central, £1.90 return off peak.
No pubs or restaurants nearby unless you're prepared to walk. Try to find Battlefield Rest for superb Italian.
Maybe we just lucked out on the room, I certainly hope so.
