We hired the number 10 hotel on the 3rd May 2014 for my sons christening party and it was truly amazing :) venue, location, service, chefs and staff. Firstly I would like to thank William the Manager and Nicola for making our day so special and taking care of every detail everything ran like clockwork :) I would also like to thank the Chefs as our meal was delicious and we received loads of comments how good the meal was I would definetly say it was a fine dining experience and I don't think chefs get enough praise in places because they are behind the scenes so Thanks again we will return for a meal very soon :) Service was fantastic from the waiting staff, we also had a bouncy castle for the kids which is a lovely touch from Fun Fort bouncy castle hire really reasonable too, so if the weather is good do this as it keeps all the kids entertained, the grounds of the hotel are beautiful for any type of venue very large and pretty also indoors the place is stunning very classy and minimal so if you are thinking of booking this place GO FOR IT what are you waiting for ? 10 out of 10 number 10 Thanks for making our day so special :)

The service we received at lunchtime today was terrible. It took over half an hour to bring us soup and a sandwich and even then the order was wrong and not as described. While we waited the manager put on a dance CD at such a high volume that we had to move tables in order to have a conversation. Finally, £6 for a sandwich ham and grated cheese sandwich is a joke. No side salad, no crisps as promised in the menu. The only saving grace was the waitress who tried her best despite having to work the reception desk at the same time.

I have previously reviewed the hotels restaurant/ dining experience, i have since marveled at the attention to detail and overall quality of this unique establishments guest rooms and function suite. The bar which is open to the public has been totally refurbished and extended, to what i can only describe as in a class of its own. The bespoke fixtures and fittings including the brand new bar (which is totally in keeping with the period surroundings) is in my opinion superior to many 5 star hotels i have visited. The rooms are of a standard you would normally only find in Hotels with tariffs in the London price bracket.
The function suite which leads to lush gardens and patio area are are perfect for every occasion. whether it be a wedding, christening or special birthday celebration. I recently attended a wedding and have very high standards, and due to my own employ a very keen eye for detail. From start to finish the management and staff excelled in every department, from making sure the bride and grooms day was perfect in every way, to ensuring the children present had everything they needed to make the day something everyone present will cherish for years to come.
I can not speak highly enough with regards to William the general manager and his deputy Nicola's professionalism with can do approach to every request from everyone present.
All of the staff are a credit to the hotel, and i am eagerly anticipating my next visit for a special family birthday celebration.

Room Tip: the rooms are of such a high standard you cannot go wrong.

Location is good if you want away from the constant hum of Glasgow .Located about 3 miles from city centre (£8 in a Taxi) you get a couple of converted Victorian Houses turned into a hotel .There is a small carpark at rear but ample parking on street , so no issues there .We had the basic room which was well kitted out with a huge bathroom .TV is a bit small but no issues as we were only there for one night .Beds very comfortable - good nights sleep .Food was very good but service a little slow (25 minute wait for a sandwich when we were the only people eating ) and they kept getting the orders wrong - diet coke instead of Irn Bru , tea ordered - never came BUT didn't spoil our enjoyment as dinner was very good and reasonably priced , with an extensive menu .However breakfast was not very good - terrible fresh (???) juice , bad sausages and just the remnants of other things that were there before we got there ( we arrived with 30 mins still left of breakfast ) so I reckon we only got half the usual choices .Incidently we were told on arrival that we were "room only" but when I checked by confirmation email it said full Scottish breakfast included .There is a lovely garden area with picnic benches to sit out on and the sun streams into it on a hot June afternoon - very pleasant .Staff were all really friendly , especially the girl that served us lunch and dinner .On the whole I would recommend this hotel as we enjoyed it overall (despite my nit-picking) and would probably stay there again .The bar was well stocked and happy to serve into the wee small hours - thank you

Room Tip: We were facing front and it was very quiet for a major city
