“Good Value Hotel in the Centre of Glasgow”
Reviewed 27 January 2014

Had a one night stay in this hotel 25th January with my wife. Nice hotel and only a 10 minute walk away from the centre of the city. It's right next to Charing X station so if you are on the train it's a great location. Car park next door is also very reasonable. The hotel does get a special rate (12 per 24 hours) but as we arrived around 5pm on the Saturday night the receptionist advised us that cost would be even less for the 24 hours. And right enough we only paid £6.10 :)
Room was good (we were on the 12th floor). Bar was nice and cosy and the prices were reasonable. We did not sample the food but the menu looked pretty good.
Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning a city break to Glasgow.

Room Tip: At busy times it took an age to get a lift so maybe worthwhile trying to get lower floor.

Came to Glasgow for an inexpensive break. Location is excellent for Art Galleries, theatre, and shops. Some within easy walking distance but with train station next door - £1.50 for an adult return to Queen Street with trains about every 5-10 minutes on a journey lasting 2 minutes. Parking is next door in a multi-story car park at a discounted rate - only £17.50 for nearly 2 full days.

The hotel is slightly older, but spotless. We had a stunning view of the Mitchell Library and the Glasgow skyline. Staff are very pleasant, efficient and helpful. We had a Continental Breakfast which was excellent value for money with great selection of cereal and fresh fruit. The cooked breakfast looked good as well.

We had an excellent sleep with no noise penetrating from the surrounding environment. We slept with the curtains open just to enjoy the view.

We shall definitely return. Special thanks to Toni and Robbie

i stayed for 3 nights and chose premier inn because of its great location and available twin bedroom. anyway, the rooms were okay but could definitely use some refurbishing. the tv was VERY small and only one person could watch it from our beds because one of the walls was blocking the view. so that didnt make any sense to me. bathroom was okay. soup dispenser kept leaking. in the online ad it said 'free wi-fi' - what a joke. after 30 free minutes you've got to register and pay. the cleaning staff cleaned when we put out the 'please don't disturb' note but didn't clean when there was not note on the doorhandle. bit annoying. prices were okay, check trivago/ laterooms for great offers.

Spotlessly clean room, comfy bed, lovely warm welcome from very friendly staff, great central location. Excellent value. Why pay more for less at so called luxury hotel chains!?!? Would certainly stay again

I have stayed in many Premier Inn's over the years, all over the UK. This is by far the worst. Room not ready at 14:30; room we finally got was tiny, not clean and not maintained well at all; mattress was like a table; tea spoons were brown and sticky...Overall, worst experience in a Premier Inn ever.

My family and I have always liked Premier Inn hotels, we have stayed in them on a number of occasions for years. Our short stay over the last couple of days really showed how fantastic the staff really are. We expected our 1 year old son to be in post surgery HDU (where we couldn't stay with him), but due to unforseen circumstances, surgery was cancelled and we needed a cot and other things for him. The staff really came through for us, they were very kind and helpful and as a result turned a terrible hospital visit into a relaxing miniature family break - they were so kind, they gave our son a 'get well soon' card and a cuddly monkey. We would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, and I can guarantee we will be looking to stay there again when our wee ones surgery gets the go-ahead.

Room Tip: The north / east facing rooms at the higher levels have spectacular views of Glasgow, can be a bit c...
