Outstanding visual splendour. A credit to the Glasgow merchants who wanted to show off their civic pride.

“Fascinating guided tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

We had been meaning to go on a tour of the City Chambers for a while and are very glad we did. The tours take place at 10:30 and 14:30 so we opted for the morning one before lunch. It lasted about three quarters of an hour and was very interesting. Our guide was knowledgeable and was on hand to answer questions. It was particularly nice to see into the ornate debating chamber, which is, it could be said, far more impressive than the Scottish Parliament debating chamber. A must-see and even better seeing as it's free!

One of the most beautiful buildings in Europe. This is a real monument to Glasgow's glory days. Perhaps they'll come again!

“Top Sight for any itinerary in Glasgow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014 via mobile

We turned up for the daily 10.30 guided tour and didn't know quite what to expect. We were delighted by the tour around this historic and amazing building which took 45 minutes. Given that the tour is free, this is even more of a must do on the Glasgow itinerary list.

“Marble central!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

With acres of marble it's rumoured that there is more marble there than in the Vatican. Did the free tour with a knowledgeable guide but as it is a working building the tour was slightly restricted but very interesting.
