Choose the right film,we saw Gravity there in 3D and I felt I was in space with them - even to the extent I felt a wee bit queasy (they tell you to close your eyes and it goes). It was fantastic. Months later we went to see Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow and I felt it was a wasted visit, normal cinema screen would have done, it wasn't enhanced by the 3D IMAX experience.

Watch the parking, don't pay for your ticket before entering the centre, £3.00 in the car park machine but only £1.00 for a parking token in the machine in the entranceway.

Clean toilets.

This is not an arts cinema and does not pretend to be, though it does have the standard range of interesting IMAX features such as Space Shuttle and Deep Sea science films. However, I use it for the likes of big Hollywood action films, this year including Godzilla, 300 Empire, Robocop 2014, Spider-Man 2, Edge of Tomorrow, and Maleficent.

The screen is, of course, stunning. The largest, clearest in Scotland. Normally I find 3D films at a chain cinema to be underwhelming, but on an IMAX if anything it's overwhelming!

The sound is incredible too, loud but not painful, with a thunderous bass that almost grinds you in two during the right film. For example Godzilla, which has incredible sound effect design, was made all the more terrifying due to the brilliant sound. You could FEEL the steel cables snap and ping!

There's the usual range of tired, dried, production popcorn and colas that take a mortgage to buy, but the staff don't in the least care if you bring your own munchies in. There's also a Starbucks downstairs which helps.

It's out-of-the-way enough it makes sense to drive, but parking is expensive at £3 if you leave before 5pm, but after 5pm it's a much more reasonable £1.

Will I be back? Yes, for Guardians of the Galaxy...

Easy access, plenty parking, huge screen and amazing sound. Since Cineworld took over they have made many improvements, the best for us is being able to select your seats when booking online, unlike the old way of having to arrive early and queue to hopefully get a descent seat.

Taking the family here is an amazing experience. You think you have seen 3d but this is exceptional. If you visit the science centre which is another fab adventure your ticket also admits you in to the iMax. The train in to the science centre is the easiest way to get there. You pass the new hydro built for the commonwealth games in the left the secc is on the right then a hop over the bells bridge and ur there

Booked a ticket for the feature film along with entry to the Science centre next door, and got a good deal. We had never been to an imax before, and it was quite an experience! Toilets were a bit shabby, but you don't tend to spend much time there!
