“Great location - spotless quiet rooms - good views”
Reviewed 14 February 2014

Stayed for just one quick overnight business trip. Didn't eat evening meal in the hotel or use the gym but had drinks and breakfast. Ladies at reception were nice and helpful and upgraded us (as Hilton Honors Gold members) to river view rooms. We also received breakfast FOC as Gold members.
Rooms are very well equipped and nice and clean. Apple TV very useful, free wifi, hot power shower and comfortable beds. Although the weather wasnt great and was windy, the hotel was nice and quiet. Breakfast had plenty of choice and the staff were attentive, had a waffle iron and waffle mix for you to make your own - yummy!
For business travellers they also have a little pantry on offer with drinks, snacks and microwave meals so if you don't want to sit in a restaurant or bar on your own, you can retreat to your room with lots of goodies!
Definitely recommended and if you get the river view, then do so, but with all the latest architecture on offer in glasgow any of the rooms have decent views.

Just come back from a weekend away for my birthday. Had such a special time, staff at the Hilton were brilliant, upgraded us, organised a special goodie bag of Scottish foods and drinks (lovely touch-thanks), on Saturday we had dinner in the bar area, pretty busy, given that it was the hotel staffs Christmas do, and like they do at other hotels they draft in other Hilton staff to cover, we had the wedding coordinator from the Dunblane serving us, who was great fun and coped really well given that she was not working in her normal surrounding or doing her normal job! As for location if you like a walk then there's loads to do, the highlight was the Kelvingrove Museum - amazing art and design, we walked down the Clyde to Glasgow City centre for dinner at Viva Brazil - excellent food and service and then onto the station to Whitecraigs and the Electric glen at Rouken Glen which was a fabulous way to walk around a park in the night, very clever lighting and sound effects, definitely coming back next year.

Room Tip: Call them in advance if it's a special occasion - they were so helpful

We stayed to be near the Hydro, in this respect the hotel was good. However the restaurant was overcrowded with slow service both before the concert and for breakfast the next day. The music was loud, overpowering and frantic, despite requests from several people to change it or turn it off it continued. It appeared to us the waiting staff had little support from the junior management who did little more than watch and block the access for staff and customers.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms are worth the extra for a great view

I chose the Hilton Garden Inn because of location, it's right opposite the Hydro - a 2 minute walk away. Lovely modern, clean hotel and the reception staff were very friendly. The rooms are small but very very clean with apple mac computers/TV, fridge and free safe which is a lovely touch. We booked a meal at the hotels restaurant - pre theatre menu. The quality of food was excellent, however, we had a very long wait in between courses....45 minutes to be precise!. The waiting staff were good so I'm putting it down to a problem in the kitchen. The restaurant was busy but I would of expected them to be prepared given there was a concert on at The Hyrdo that weekend.
All the in all a lovely stay, great location and lovely food if you are prepared to wait. I will absolutely stay again.

Booked to see Top Gear Live and looked for a hotel close to the SEC Hydro. We were certainly not dissappointed with the Garden Inn Hilton in Glasgow. Very clean, fresh and new looking. Everything you needed in your room and very comfortable beds and pillow.

Only downside for us was that it was extremely busy and it felt like they had underestimated how busy it would be with Top Gear live as lunch service was extremely slow taking over 45 minutes to get our sandwiches and chips. On the plus side though dinner in the restaurant that evening was superb.

Would highly recommend for business or pleasure.

Room Tip: River view rooms available. Have only marked down on the service due to the lunch service
