“Perfect Venue for SECC or Hydro”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

We have stayed at Hilton Garden Inn a few times and always found the staff very courteous and helpful. The Hotel is perfect if attending a concert at the SECC and with additional excellent bar staff on duty after the concert makes for quick service in the busy bar.
Rooms are clean and we certainly prefer the Clyde view and Squinty Bridge view. Breakfast is Hilton standard full Scottish - what's not to like!!!!!

Dear AilFor,

It’s great to read that you had a fantastic stay with us. As you mentioned we are in a perfect location to the SECC and new Hydro Arena (3minute walk) with half of our rooms enjoying the stunning views of the river Clyde. The City Cafe Bar and Grill provides a great option before and after an event at the local arenas.

Also, thanks for the kind comments on our team members, we work tirelessly to ensure all our customers have the best experience.

I hope to welcome you back soon.

Kind regards
Jamie

I love this hotel. The rooms are super modern with Apple TV. It's like a posher lower end hotel. Not stuffy. Restaurant great. Reasonable bar prices. Good breakfast. Staff friendly. Nice views over the river. £24 in taxi from airport. 20 minute walk to centre.
My favourite Glasgow hotel.

Dear Ryanbruce,

It's fantastic that we are your hotel of choice in Glasgow and we really appreciate your feedback. The food in the City Cafe Bar & Grill is all locally sourced and we are changing our menu soon in preparation for our Terrace opening which gives you the opportunity to top up your tan whilst enjoying great food and wine. It’s the largest riverside terrace in Glasgow with stunning views of the river Clyde. I hope to welcome you back soon.

Kind regards

Jamie

A good clean modern hotel, great to have an apple iMac in the room with free wifi connection and a good breakfast with plenty of choice. No complaints, would definitely stay again for business and perfect for concerts. At close to the SECC. Might choice a more romantic hotel if I was with my wife.

Hotel location is excellent for SECC and Hydro. Avoid the walk back to town or the huge taxi queues. Free internet access. Tea and coffee and biscuits available at reception which is a nice touch. Breakfast can be very busy depending on what time you go down.

Dear Greig M

Thank you very much for your review.

Getting home after a concert can indeed be challenging and it is certainly worth considering staying here to enjoy a few drinks in the bar before going to bed.

Kind Regards,
Brian

We stayed in this hotel in January and while the staff at reception were very helpful, the restaurant waiting staff at Sat evening were beyond awful. This was not just our experience - the folk at the table next to ours waited so long for two drinks to arrive after their meal that they had left the table and gone away by the time the drinks arrived. We waited over an hour for our starter to arrive - it was only an antipasti platter, and the restaurant was less than half full - so not sure why on earth that would be. Three different people came to take our order and yet nothing much seemed to happen in terms of feeding us. That said, when the food did arrive, it was much better than we thought it was going to be and none of us had room for pudding! The service at breakfast was much more efficient and the waffles were amazing!
The room was comfortable and clean - and we'd definitely go back. But maybe eat dinner somewhere else!

Dear Alison M

Thank you for your review.

I am truly sorry that dinner service was not up to our normal standard, you can be assured that this is not normally the case and something clearly went wrong the night you dined.

It is good read that you found everything else to be of a high standard and I hope you give the restaurant another chance next time you stay.

Kind Regards,
Brian

Just had a fab stay at this hotel. All staff we met from reception, (bar staff were so much fun) to lovely housekeeping lady - excellent. We were made to feel welcome from minute arrived until departed. Ideal for visiting exhibition centre. First class. Room was top notch - cannot recommed highly enough - thank you for making my daughter 18th a day/night to remember!

I always stay here when I come to Glasgow. It is clean, friendly, quiet and handy for the SECC. Very nice breakfast and lovely location beside the river. An easy walk from the SECC station, but you can walk back into town in 20 minutes if you wish.
