Very handy hotel by the river. Easy walking distance to the SECC and city centre.

Rooms are very small and have too much furniture crammed in so consequently one has to move the chair to access the wardrobe and drawers that are inside it. Nice River views with floor to ceiling windows. High tech TV, DVD, PC Radio system.

Beds are queen size but very comfortable and clean.

Shower rooms are tiny, in fact be aware if you suffer at all from claustrophobia. I don’t and even I was starting to feel a tiny bit anxious in there with the door closed.

The room came with nice toiletries (the white company) and robes sadly torn and tatty but seemed like a nice touch.

Other guests could be heard but only slightly and given that this place feels a bit like a travel inn that was a nice surprise as we expected much more noise.

Breakfast was nice with a good selection of cooked and buffet dishes. Coffee was terrible.

Service is impeccable everyone from reception to porter was professional friendly polite and efficient. Top marks to all.

Would I recommend it? Yes for a short stay definitely but not quality luxury.

Decent size room, with everything you could wish for, tea / coffee / TV/ internet access, air con, free carparking, etc. Very clean, and everything new and in great condition. Our room had a good view across the river, quiet location, comfy beds, no noise from other guests. Reception at the hotel was fine, and polite, but not particularily friendly.

It's about 20 mins walk along the river into the city centre, OK during the day, but I wouldn't want to do the walk in the dark. Taxi to city centre just under £4.00.

We stayed here because it was so close to the SECC and we were going to a concert there. The rooms were modern, bright and clean with lots of cool little touches like a plasma tv with dvd's. The bed was so comfortable! We had a great view out to the river clyde. We had the most delicious chilli room service at about 2am which was so needed after jumping about at the concert! It has a nice big bar and the atmosphere was great, I think a lot of the guests had been at the show too so it was like a little afterparty. Close enough to the city centre, but it was so busy we couldnt get a taxi to take us out. Loved this place will be back.

We stayed at City Inn Glasgow for 3 nights in early July 2009. We checked in late and were able to order late room service (with a smile). Overall a great experience and Highly recommended!

The staff are outstanding and helpful (just ask) at this modern, chic, hotel. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms outstanding. Also, if you can, request a river room where you can see the Arc Bridge.

If you are here for Leisure, I would suggest picking up a discount card from the front desk for the city tour bus which stops at the hotel every 15 minutes during high season. The hotel is not directly downtown, but a 5 pound sterling ride away.

The all in one use of an apple computer in every room to access internet, TV, and radio is commendable (no charge). Overall Highly recommended! Book this hotel. Note: I have stayed at the City Inn London and City Inn Birmingham and these properties are similar -- they use the same winning formula. We hope they come to the US soon!

Stayed for a two night trip, as my preferred hotel was fully booked. The hotel is situated right next to the SECC, and is right by the Clyde and the squinty bridge. Its about 10 years old.

Check in was fine, if a little quick although the receptionist seemed a little bothered that i was trying to check in literally throwing my credit card down after pre-authorising it. I was on the 5th floor with a view of the YEN restaurant and the empty land plots (the entire area was undergoing a refurbishment but the credit crunch has put that on hold).

The rooms are a little on the small side, but well equipped with a good amount of storage space. Every room is equipped with a Mac, which acts as a TV and computer. There is also free Wifi through out the hotel, but i found it unreliable and quite slow. Channel wise there are most of the Freeview channels, although i could not get channel 5 to work. There is a DVD library at reception as well.Rooms are air conditioned and the beds are comfortable.

Bathroom wise theres only a shower, no bath. But they are clean and well lit with a glass door for the shower.

I ate in both nights, and in hindsight i should have tried out Yen and the indian restaurant right next door. The food at the hotel is good, but again the customer service in the restaurant was poor. Breakfast is a continental or full english which they cook for you to order, which is really good - except when they get your order wrong as they did on the second morning.

I had room service on the second night, and they managed to get the order totally wrong.

Checking out was quick and straight forward. Its a quiet area simply because of the lack of social life in the immediate vicinity. the area could be a thriving riverside, but the lack of other amenities etc.. stops that.

Would i got back? Not as a first choice alternative.
