Previously I stayed here regularly then is suddenly seemed to go down hill and I stopped using it. I returned after sweltering in another hotel and have now stayed 4 times
This is a functional hotel, good for the conference and concert venuesaand a 30 minutes walk from the city centre. It also has excellent parking (except when a concert is on). It is a very good business hotel but a bit characterless.
The hotel has had a major groundfloor revamp (perhaps driven by the new hotel opposite) and the food options are more suited to its purpose and in the good weather has an open air food and drink terrace on the riverside.
Reception is prompt, efficient and helpful (another positive change) and the bar and waiting staff the same. Food quality is good for a practical dining experince (after a long day at work) but I suspect not for a celebrationand prices very reasonable. A 10 minutes walk takes you to the very trendy Finnieston area with outstanding bars and restaurants.
Rooms are clean and functional with a good desk, good wifi and a small fridge (there is a takeaway beer/wine/snack area in the lobby) but a sjhower only (no bath)
Breakfast has a good selection and the breakfast meeter and greeter deserves special mention for her welcome.
Happy to stay here when I visit GlasgowMore
