3 nights on business

Standard ibis, good location for city centre. Room reasonable size, clean, well appointed.
Bed comfortable.

Bar area was ok, breakfast the standard Ibis fayre.

Not the cheapest hotel in Glasgow, but would stay again.

So this hotel was only £50'ish a night and bang in the middle of Glasgow, so I was realistic about what to expect.
Initial impressions were pretty good, helpful staff, smooth check-in. Room however was tired and a bit grubby, and I think I was bitten by bed-bugs - 3 little bites all in a row that weren't there when I went to bed (does Glasgow have mosquitoes?)
Breakfast was ok

The IBIS Ho(s)tel is probably the worst hotel I have stayed in.

There is a lot of choice in Glasgow and you can easily go somewhere else that is better value for money.

The rooms are very small and dirty, with bizarre stains on the wall. The "wet room" reminded me of a train toilet. However, the shower was excellent!

The hotel lobby / bar is crowded and noisy.

The staff are rude and unhelpful.

The location is ok but not ideal - about 20 minutes walk uphill from Glasgow Central Station.

My brother and I specifically requested a twin room when we booked and turned up to find a double bed. After talking to the staff we were promised a twin room if we waited a few hours. We cam back a few hours later to find that they still only had a double room!

I booked 2 rooms on the 22nd September 2007.

The hotel was grubby and noisy and had clearly seen better days.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the staff were rude and unhelpful.

The location of the hotel is not as convenient as they might have you believe.

Try somewhere else, unless you want to stay in a hostel masquerading as a 3 star hotel.

basic room but all we needed for a 1 night stay easy walking distance from town centre. we were attending a concert at hampden and walked to central station for a train to mount florida which is just a couple of minutes from the stadium. all in all a pleasant stay in glasgow and wouldn't hesitate to recommend hotel to friends quite reasonabely priced at £68 per night for a double room no breakfast included though

The hotel is located within walking distance of most of the city's sights and it is located in a neighbourhood that we felt safe walking around at night. The hotel was quiet both inside and out. The room was somewhat clean (ie no pests) but could have used a good vacuuming. The staff were friendly enough. There were no problems with temperature and we could open our window. It's not the best hotel ever but it was suitable to our needs (price and location).
I reccommend catching the CityLink bus from the airport-- there is a desk near the baggage carousels or you can buy tickets from the driver. The first stop is a short walk away from this hotel and there are other stops in the central part of the city.

The hotel was a convenient 15 minute walk into the city centre. But the room was definitely not worth the £51.
The room was a "smoking" room even though we are non-smokers it didn't smell as bad as I expected. but the room was very small and very stuffy with a background odour.
The windows are sealed shut so no chance of getting a bit of fresh air. There is air conditioning but we set it on the highest setting and the lowest temperature (which was supposed to be 5 degrees) and the room was still very warm.
The carpet was stained, there were marks on the wall and stains on the bed sheets.
The bathroom was quite good and the shower was quite big.
There were no hairdryers in the bedroom and the literature said they were available from reception.
I phoned for one at 5.15pm and was told I was second in the queue. By 6.30pm I was next in line, but by 7.30pm when I tried again, they said no hairdryers had still returned and I was advised I probably would not get one because other guests liked to keep them and use them again in the morning. The staff member was abrupt and rude and did not care that I had waited over two hours for one.
I ended up drying my hair under the hand dryer in the toilets. I was thoroughly unimpressed with their attitude and the service.
The room was very ordinary and below average but this treatment made it even worse.
