Our first stay at Ibis hotels – and it will not be our last. The hotel is clean, well designed and organised; the staff helpful. It does exactly what it says on the can – no fuss. Ibis is now top of our list of stopover hotels.

We booked this hotel more than 15 days in advance and got the early bird discount. £37.05!! Brilliant!!

The 500 express from the airport stops nearby and takes about 25 minutes. £8.50 return. The hotel is marked on their map with the nearest bus stop clearly indicated which is really convenient, helpful and evidence of someone's joined up thinking. There is a cheaper 747 which is not direct and takes longer. The whole area was non threatening.

It is sited close enough to town to walk but there are also regular buses or taxis. The helpful reception staff can help with directions but the wifi will get you onto the First website for public transport.

We found the reception staff were welcoming and efficient. Check in is possible at 12 and you can stay till 12 the next day. Breakfast is extra which gives the customer the choice to take it or not. There are many places to eat and drink in the vicinity. The room has basic coffee and tea facilities.

The room had everything we needed and looked like an ibis anywhere which is very reassuring because you know what to expect. Not luxurious but everything we need to meet our needs when we are away for a short stay. Clean. Quiet. Dark at night. Free wifi. The shower was very good. The bathroom pods always feel a bit space age.

This hotel gave us a very good value for money room for the night. We would stay here again. It meets all basic requirements. I have had a much worst night's sleep in much more expensive hotels. Sleep is a luxury I value and this room delivered!

Room Tip: We were at the back. Possibly it was why it was quiet.

The hotel was clean and the staff went the extra mile to help us- especially Debra. We stayed overnight for a gig at the O2 and this hotel was perfectly located- 5 mins walk to the venue and the main street with restaurants, bars and shop. It's only 10 mins walk from Central Station so it's the perfect base for visiting the city

I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and colleagues

Don't get me wrong, for a 'low budget' hotel it was fine but paying £89 for what was as thick as a tissue for my bed cover you can see my dismay. It was fine for a night but I can think of other places I would of stayed for that price. Maybe as a special deal id go again but for that price, no thanks!

Pretty much your standard Ibis; this one is in a fairly quiet location unlike some I've stayed in (Manchester!). You know you travel too much when you wake up in an Ibis and it takes you a few moments to remember which city you're in! There is a Novotel next door which would have probably been a little nicer.
If you need to get a taxi anywhere there is a direct phone on the reception counter; the depot must be just across the road as they are at the hotel in two minutes max!
