“'Faulty Towers'”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

The location of the hotel is excellent-right in the city centre-that is about the best you can say.Booked in for one night-twin room. One of the lifts was not working and the other one took ages to come and when it did it was tiny!
Room looked out onto a wall so not the most scenic room but wasn't too bothered as was not planning on staying in it for long.
Had no hot water and when asked at reception was told we had to run the sink AND bath taps together...not sure what that was about? Two people sharing a room, one set of towels in the bathroom, other set in the wardrobe......again, not sure what that was about???
Breakfast was very functional buffet style, which was not great as the food was only luke warm. Had lunch in the conservatory and ordered soup cullen skink which was so thick you needed a knife and fork to get through it, but really was inedible. Sent it back and watched a staff member apologise to the wrong table but graciously repeated it to us.
Would i stay here again, absolutely not. Shame really.

Room Tip: Dont book one

Location great but thats all i can say about the hotel. Everything else is a total shambles. The services is poor and the rooms look like they haven't been decorated in over 30 years. There are far nicer hotels in Glasgow for a lot less than the Millennium. For such a large chain they should be embarrassed renting out rooms in that condition. Its got to be one of the worst hotels in Glasgow. Even the service is terrible. In the morning when we went for breakfast there were loads of tables that hadn't been cleared yet the place was empty. There was no clean glasses or saucers. The buffet hadn't been replenished either. We had to ask for bread and butter and other guests were doing the same. Very unprofessional. I would highly recommend you look else where before staying at the Millennium.

We booked a suite for one night stay and found it an ideal base right in the middle of the city. Room was overlooking George square but we could not hear traffic unless you opened secondary glazing window. Room was a little dated but very clean and comfortable nonetheless. All the staff are very friendly and helpful although there seems very few of them for such a large hotel. Buffet breakfast was very nice and 12.00 check out time worked in well with our schedule.
Wish we had came by train as hotel is literally next door to Queen street station. Overall good value for money and would definitely use again.

Booked this hotel due to location. The reception area is nice and check-in was easy however the rooms are very dated and in desperate need of a refurbishment. The bathroom was clean but very noisy shower and also plug in sink did not work properly so water took a while to drain. The bed was probably the worst hotel bed ive slept in... very uncomfortable, small and damaged headboard. The curtains had small holes in them and did not meet properly so light came in early morning. Overall a very dated room and not what I expected. Could use a good clean, pot of paint and new furnishings. Wish I had paid the extra to stay at the premier inn where I would have got a nice comfy bed in a clean room!!

I've stayed here a few times over the years but the hotel is now starting to look very tired & dated.

Location wise you cannot fault this place, right next door to the station & so central, shops, restaurants, bars less than a 5min walk.

The public areas of the hotel are fine but the rooms are very dated & tired. We were in a club room so had access to the club lounge but the carpet was worn, curtains stained, damp on the ceiling & the furniture in disparate need of upgrading. Having said that the room was clean.

Didn't feel the breakfast was as good as it used to be but we did only pay £125 for 2 night B&B & with the location couldn't really complain to much.

If the hotel managers read this, please, please, please upgrade this hotel with all the revenue you'll make on the vastly over priced rooms you'll sell during the Commonwealth Games.

Mmmmm - not quite sure where to begin. Reception area is fine but only one lift working! Booked into a Club Room but Reception failed to validate the room cards for access to the lounge. Room itself quite spacious but very dated. Carpets and curtains marked / stained and just dirty. Bothroom has had a cosmetic facelift but other than the tiles, everything else has been ignored. Walls dingy, ceilings cracked and paint falling off, doors/skirtings dreadful with chipped paint and generally shabby. Then there is the noise!!! The location is very central but you either have the continuous noise of traffic at the front from George Square or as an alternative you can opt for the train announcements and the ding dong which accompanies each one from Queen Street Station - neither is good trust me! The moral of the story is - look elsewhere until such times as it has a makeover and some double glazing..........

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else
