We didn't stay in the hotel but instead spent most of a Saturday in the lounge with another couple. Morning coffee drifted into lunch, and still we had lots to chat about so lunch drifted into afternoon tea. The service was excellent, cheerful and obliging. For lunch two of us ordered haggis neeps and tatties. However the waiter reported that turnips weren't available so we opted for haggis, peas and tatties instead, and it was very nice. The other two members of our party had fish and chips and both found the fish very dry, as if it had been cooked previously in the day and kept hot or heated up. The conservatory overlooking George Square is a great vantage point for watching the world go by.

I had always though this hotel in the centre of Glasgow was a luxury venue. It's right at the train station and overlooks George Square and is part of a respected chain. Sadly our experience there means we can't recommend it and I am struggling to see how they justify their room rates.

Our room was spacious but needed decorating and cleaning. I have posted some pictures of split woodwork, stained walls and just general dirt. I also found what looked like an old bloodstain on a pillowcase (see pic).

Also this week they have been doing some work to the facade which was not made clear on our booking. There was scaffolding up outside and at 8am in the morning, workmen were walking back and forward and generally having a good chat. Noise aside, this was OK as the curtains were closed, however there were no curtains in the bathroom - just frosted glass. Very disconcerting having workmen so close to the window. (See pic).

The windows are all traditional single-glazed and so the traffic noise is loud and combined with work in George Square through the night and the workmen at 8am, it was not a great nights sleep.

The previous night I had an odd experience at the bar. I stood at the bar and asked for a glass of wine and noticed there was an already poured one in the wine fridge. Have no idea how long that had sat there and was hoping i would get poured a fresh one. The barmaid offered to bring it to my table (which other customers had not been offered) and lo and behold the glass I got was in all probability the one from the fridge - the glass was ice cold and had condensation on it. No idea how long it had sat there...and not sure that is best practice for bar service.

We stayed one night as it was a short trip and we didn't eat there so cant comment on anything else. The poor room took the shine off of an otherwise good trip and my opinion of the Millennium Hotel chain is now very low. Look elsewhere.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights departing on 18th May. The location of the place is great, but this old, noisy, dirty, unfriendly place is to be avoided. We had room a the front overlooking the square, but there was scaffolding up and workmen walking along, so we had to draw the curtains, not warned about this when we booked or arrived. The bathroom has no extractor so steamed up, the sink takes ages to empty and the hot towel rail did not work. The bedroom was tatty, the carpet stained, the bed very hard with a mattress protector on which makes you sweet so we removed that. We were given 3 tea bags each day and had to ask for more, we tried to log on to the WiFI but the system is overloaded, having no free WIFI and having to pay is a rip off. At breakfast there was only one brown bread roll to slice, you have to stand and make your own toast, a real hassle when busy, the jams etc are in a dish which you must spoon onto your plate, there were no bananas despite being on the menu, if you want eggs, kippers, haddock you need to made a special order then wait ages, the staff have no interest. You really need to avoid this place as there are many more better places to stay within 10 min walk.

Room Tip: Do try to find somewhere else to stay.

My husband booked this hotel for our 1 year wedding anniversary as a surprise but this hotel isn't somewhere id recommend if your looking abit of luxury and romance.. the room was very small and extremely warm even with the air con on (which was very old) there was stains on the walls and carpets and the wardrobe smelt like cheesy watsits yuck! It is a very central hotel so that's a plus.. I wouldn't think we will revisit this hotel again but the staff where friendly and accommodating when asked for anything

Been there for 5 nights with 2 twin rooms. Location is one of the best in Glasgow, connected to Queen street station right at George Square. No hotel in this city as be as central as Millennium hotel in Glasgow. Breakfasts were good. However, I think their rooms were quite old comparing to other Millennium hotels in other cities. Bar was good, but can be crowded in the afternoon. Overall I think this hotel is more for convenience but not for luxury.

Room Tip: George Square view rooms are nicer, but we didn't get them.

The hotel is undergoing a facelift for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. The 2 front entrances are. Locked by scaffolding, and there are no signs as to how to access the hotel.

The staff is not very friendly at all. The rooms are dirty and extremely warm! The bathroom is also very dirty, and it took several attempts to flush the toilet. They do not service the rooms if you stay multi nights, unless you request it. We requested service twice and they never came through, finally we asked for just some clean towels. We were told will bring them to you when we can. They brought us towels at 10:30 at night!

The restaurant food (dinner, tea, breakfast) is beyond DISGUSTING! There is a daily charge for WiFi and the connection is terrible at that.

The location is prime! Other than that, I would never again stay here, even for no charge at all!

Room Tip: If you can see the train stop from your window, you probably will not get much sleep!

Had lunch today at the brasserie and really enjoyed the experience, staff were lovely and professional and the food was value for money and very tasty. If you fancy dining in the brasserie book a table in the glass fronted conservatory and enjoy the people watching, really enjoyable afternoon would go again, hopefully soon!! Many thanks to all staff!!
