“Back for another visit”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

We have just spent 3 nights at the Millennium Hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husbands 50th birthday.
We had a club room on the 3rd floor overlooking George Square (yeah, ok we couldn't actually see the square because of the scaffolding but we have stayed here before and we know it's there!).
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Glasgow, very close to the fabulous Buchanan Street for shopping and just a short walk to great pubs and restaurants in the evening.
The room itself was spacious and clean and the bed very comfortable, although the carpets and chairs were a bit tired and in need of replacement.
The reception staff were helpful and they dealt with a problem caused by another guest very efficiently.
We did have our sleep disturbed on two of the nights by other guests and while trying to catch up on sleep by having a lie in on the third night we were woken by the maid coming to the room to clean at 8.30!
If you park in a NCP car park the hotel have a deal which offers 20% discount on the cost, to take advantage of the deal you must present you car park token at reception as you check out.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking George Square are fabulous but the traffic noise does affect sleep if you have the...

Stopped of for a complimentary coffee and snack when travelling 1st class on the train. Service was very efficient and the staff was very friendly. The outside of the hotel is covered in scaffolding which will be fine when its gone.

Stayed one night. Lovely room. Huge bathroom. Comfortable beds. Terrific location.Quiet room at the back. Only problem was on check in we were given a double room instead of a twin. We were relocated quickly but the early wake up call written down on check in never materialised. I assume it went to the guests in our first room. There was a young trainee being shown procedures so maybe that's why. It could have been a disaster but fortunately our own alarm was enough or we may have missed our early morning coach. Didn't eat in the hotel as we left too early for breakfast but there are fantastic eateries from casual to formal dining within easy walking distance of the hotel. Prices to suit all pockets and even some chain retaurants like Prezzo are housed in magnificent buildings with fabulous architecture.

Room Tip: I like a room overlooking the many activities going on in George Square but rooms in the back are c...

I stayed only 1 night in the Millennium hotel on George's square. I had a club room on the second floor, which was very spacious with a high ceiling, and surprisingly quiet, and I loved the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast area is great. As has been pointed out by other reviewers, the hotel is currently in the process of renovation, so probably I did not see it at it's best. Certainly the carpets and other soft furnishings were in dire need of renewal which obviously had not been done on my floor. I think this hotel has tremendous potential to be a really special hotel, given the character of the building etc, provided the refurbishment is done right. I look forward to coming back in a year's time and seeing it!

We stayed here for our shopping trip to Glasgow. I had stayed here previously and loved it. But as It is in the middle of being renovated, scaffolding was all over the hotel which marred any views of the square. We were not notified of this. The rooms are in urgent need of refurbishment and I did think £80 per night with no breakfast was a bit expensive. The staff made the visit pleasant as they were very helpful and friendly so well done for that.

Room Tip: If looking for a view of the square you will be dissappointed over the summer I would imagine becaus...

We stayed late May and really enjoyed the hotel. The room was nice and staff were very helpful. Good full breakfast included with the Club Room upgrade. Close to everything - great shopping and train station on the doorstep. Will definitely stay again.
