I knew that here are renovations going on outside of the hotel, but I really expected the inside to have at least 3star level. However, the first room I was assigned to smelled like cigarette smoke, AC not working, room hot as Africa, due to being straight under roof. Nice bathroom. For the furnishing... Outworn, dirty and smelly. U dont really want to touch it in order not to make yourself dirty. Asked to change the room. Got assigned to even worse quality room, that smelled like smoke again, bathroom that time also ugly, room in the very real end of hotel where no other rooms are located. At least not hot, but aircon not working either. No curtains, only blinds, so u can choose either to be in the dark room or that everybody on the street can see u. Third evening I come and one of the meeting rooms thats close to my room has door open. Huge construction mess inside, smells really souerly and badly. Smell spreading over all the floor eventually.. Felt like survivalcamp, never ever will go again to that hotel. Have never felt in such way in any hotel Ive stayed... Felt like ripped off.

We dined here as we were given an Itson voucher as a gift and high hopes as had heard good things about the restaurant from friends. The duty manager who seated us and took our order was polite but not friendly. Our starters were quite small portions but tasted fine and we both had the pork belly for main course. The pork was really nice but the mash it was served with was solid. It had clearly been microwaved as it had a skin over it. The waitress gave basic service, no friendly chat or upselling of coffee etc.. We sat for 20 minutes then had to go and pay the drink bill at till as nobody came near us after the main plates had been removed. Our bill was £2.10 for one coke, the voucher covering the 2 courses and I get the feeling that voucher guests dont really count as we arent bringing much money in on the night but friendly service should be delivered to all guests and maybe we would think about returning again without a voucher. I will say that the conservatory area where we sat is lovely and the table was spotlessly clean.

We stayed here for two nights in the middle of May, as a weekend break to Glasgow.
We had looked at Hotels that were central as we were travelling by train-very few hotels have parking available so thought this the best option!
The location is perfect, it is in Central Glasgow and is a great base for sitting about.
My partner booked it, and didn't tell me the price until we were there. At nearly £300 for the two of us for two nights b&b, I was really disappointed.
The service on arrival was good, and were advised that our room came with access to a club lounge.
On arrival to the room, it looked and felt dated and shabby-and not in a chic way!
The noise from George Sq. wasn't helped by the single pane dash windows, and this worsened over the stay. With the erection of scaffolding taking place that weekend, we were faced with singing scaffolders from 8am every morning. We were only notified of this in out welcome letter, and at no point of booking or checking in!
Our noisy days were met with noisy nights, the creaking upstairs floorboards, and next door rooms clearly no attempt at soundproofing!
Thankfully we weren't in the room that much, however when your paying that much you expect better-much better.
The breakfast was good, be sure to ask for poached/boiled or fried eggs for breakfast though as these aren't out to help yourself.
The club lounge was ok, it was a little small but equipped with crisps and drinks.
The service was ok, with our morning papers left at our door. We didn't really have much contact with the staff, but was good when we did.
Everywhere is card access so be aware that to access the stairs to the rooms and lifts you need this. Ours needed to be deactivated to allow access to the club room but reception sorted this.
Food and service was ok-but major work needs to be done to get this hotel up to scratch. Having always admired it from afar I was very disappointed at the drab decor and state of the rooms, with the bathrooms very dated. It was expensive for what it was and definately wouldn't have this as a four star establishment.
Only good thing is location and breakfast!

This reservation was made for me, not my choice. Unfortunately, I can only confirm the dreadful reviews provided by others. This is not a four star establishment. The hotel is in a state of decay, this did not happen overnight, the paintwork is chipped, plasterwork crumbling, the walls and carpets are black with years (possibly decades) of dust and dirt. It is quite shocking. The room itself had been renovated but even here the workmanship was shoddy, e.g. missing tiles in the bathroom . The main problem was the air conditioning did not work, the room was sweltering and stuffy; the noise from the train-station and roads meant that opening the windows was not an option. At a minimum one expects a decent quality of sleep in a four star hotel, this evaded me on my two night stay here. The staff were indifferent and failed to ask about my stay when i checked out. When i mentioned the poor quality conditions, i got a simple shoulder shrug, they couldn't care less and i suspect this was a result of many similar complaints. The hotel seems to be refurbishing (no evidence of this other than scaffolding on the facade) but this should have been done many years ago and the 4th floor is not suitable for guests until this is complete. On top of all this, there was a charge for wifi, which was of very poor quality. I will not be staying at this hotel again and indeed it has soured me on the whole chain. If this is what the Millennium group considers to be a hotel that "effortlessly answers your need for comfort and style in exceptionally convenient locations" i have little faith in their other offerings. Good location undoubtedly. Comfort absolutely not.

Room Tip: Avoid the 4th floor at all costs, in worst condition of all the floors. Also perhaps try an avoid a...

It has a very nice hall and servicedesk and personal was helpful
The rooms a worn out and old and quite smelly.
We had a nice view to the street although it was noicy.
Breakfast was nice.
The location was brilliant, right in Marchant city with nice restaurants and shopping.
Though the smell and that it was worn out, I would go again because og the location.

Stayed for one night in room overlooking Square. On arrival desk staff apologised for renovation work but were very helpful in all aspects. Room clean and tidy with no problems. Bar area good and service excellent. Breakfast was good and did not have any problems with service. Price was good for this type of hotel and in this location.

great location, stayed three nights, enjoyed the comfort, nice décor, friendly and professional staff.
just one comment "why was the bath towel placed in the wardrobe"? only one face cloth in a double room, and a spot light in the bathroom was not fixed

Room Tip: the one I styed was good
