Had a 2 night stay here and no complaints.

Excellent location as it's on George square, so not far from the train station, shops, bars and restaurants. Taxis available outside too.

The room was fine, we had a studio room so had a separate lounge area and bedroom, with a view of George Square.
Room was spacious and had what we needed. I was initially worried about the possibility of hearing noise from George square late at night but never heard a thing.

We had breakfast included in our price and that was good, buffet option with the usual breakfast items along with pastries and cereal.

We also had access to the club lounge, complimentary drinks and snacks between 5-7pm, this was fine. Not busy when we were in but....I'd say about 15-20 minutes before you could stop getting drinks and snacks, LOTS of people just came in and practically cleared the place out! They didn't stay, just took what they needed and left! I know it was complimentary but that was an absolute piss take! When we went in we picked up a bag of nuts and crisps each, no one else had snacks when we were there but when we left it was all gone! So if you get access then make sure you actually go at a decent time before you can't get anything.

Overall had a good stay and have no complaints. Room was clean, bed was comfy and staff were friendly.

This was a return visit after several years stay when it was the delightful Copthorne Hotel. We’d got a small double at the end of a corridor and at the back of the hotel. The location was okay, but not great or a deal breaker. The lobby was still well laid out and check in / out was a breeze. The bar and restaurant is where the main changes are that we remembered. It used to be a classy joint overlooking the grand George Square. The view is still the same, but it seems to lack the aura and class of its previous owner. We got a good deal for the one night and it just about made it value for money, but I’d have happily paid more to have the same experiences we’d had on our previous visits to the Copthorne.

We were given room 425, this was in the old part of the hotel, a dark pokey room, there were no lampshades on the central fitting, outlook was over the filthy station roof and the greasy kitchen chimney. An industrial style fan was provided to enhance the ventilation.
We complained and were given a better room with a/c and wifi access. The room was dirty, the carpets were grey/black with dirt at the edges. Damp in the corners of the ceiling, staining under the a/c vents, etc. The bathroom door was filthy and it was dirty under the basin. The hotel reception and entrance were dirty, thick dust on the glass lampshades etc.

This cannot be a 4* hotel! I would rate one star max.
