“Excellent value for money”
Reviewed 21 March 2014

We took advantage of the offer of a two nights stay including dinner on one night, that was very reasonably priced. It was our first visit to this hotel, we have stayed at the Marriott which is across Argyle Street from it, so we knew the area and were acquainted with the hotel. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was a typical hotel room, was reasonably large and had all the usual facilities. Breakfast and dinner were served in the restaurant on the ground floor, and were of a good standard and quality. There is a secured car parking area beside an old school near the hotel and is available for residents at a good price. The hotel is beginning to look a bit aged both outside and in some of the public areas inside. We were not disappointed staying at this hotel, on what turned out to be special weekend. COYR.

I organised a weekend break for a group of over 30 people and everyone was extremely complimentary about the venue. All details and discussions were with David Comerford, Hotel Operations Manager.
When we were all met at reception every receptionist smiled, was helpful and totally efficient, it was wonderful and they kept speaking to us all throughout the weekend. The bedrooms, everyone commented on how good they were, size, cleanliness etc.
We also enjoyed the leisure facilities. What a lovely size of pool, bigger than many of the larger hotels, warm and spotless.
Now for the separate dining both evenings. Thank you David for arranging the drinks and canapés to start the evening off and the food was thoroughly enjoyed by absolutely everyone without exception again, and that is no mean feat nowadays. Your waiting staff on Saturday night made the whole evening run like clockwork and provided outstanding service the whole time.
Now finally, every single member of the group that was there that weekend asked me to thank you especially for all your organisation and managing of such a great team of highly motivated people. Customer Service truly at its absolute best.
We had an absolutely fantastic weekend and all of us, without exception, continuously stated how amazing every single staff member was throughout our whole stay.

John H.

Room was not too bad, fairly basic, but done the job. Glad they have free wifi. The pool is nice too and is open till later so you can enjoy a late evening swim and is open early in the morning too. Food pretty bog standard. All in all does the job for a business trip. Good location for town.

I have to say that for my first trip to Glasgow this was a nice choice of hotel. The staff on the front desk were very pleasant on arrival and most helpful during our stay. Rooms were clean, comfortable and the shower was excellent. Breakfast was excellent although the service I thought was very slow and also at dinner the previous evening.
All in all I would recommned this hotel for a visit.

Enjoyed my recent stay. It's handy for the city centre. Had a lovely evening meal. The free wifi was well appreciated.

There were a few niggles. Firstly they seemed to be having problems with the electronic key cards needing reset. Also, the toilet seat in my room wouldn't stay up

This was our second visit to the Menzies Hotel in Glasgow. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms are a little tired but good size with very confortable bed. Shower in bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was ok exactly what you would expect for mass catering. We had lunch at the hotel that was very good, kitchen was a little slow but we didn't mind as we were in no hurry. Pool and Jacuzzi were excellent. All in all nice hotel secure parking, easy walk to Glasgow town centre and easy access to SSE Hydro and SECC, would recommend it if you are going to SSE Hydro of SECC. Only problem we encountered was with all the road works actually getting to the hotel as the sat nav appeared to find it quite challenging !

Room Tip: Check you route to the hotel before setting off.
