stayed there for 2 nights, the decor is shabby and unkempt, the room was clean but with an overpowering stink of bleach, (better than wee though) water was so hot out of the tap that steam was building up in the pipes thus spattering into the sink and would easily scald. at the restaurant i was served a small breaded haddock which was undercooked in the middle, staff were apologetic and got a replacement quite quickly. there was a 21st birthday function on until past 1am and the music was pounding through the walls. breakfast was ok but most plates on the main table were dirty and had food particles of some sort on them. the fruit juices were openly poured from a carton, just plain unprofessional. 2nd night there was another function or something on lots of young looking people drunk and rowdy hanging about, loud dance music on past 1 am again. was then wakened up at 7 am with some loud still drunk men bellowing and laughing in the corridor for over half an hour. was very tempted to throw something at them so they would shut up! most definitly the worst hotel experience ive had. and yes, i am putting in a complaint to environmental health.

We booked this hotel just to crash after a birthday party at a friend’s house in the local area. For boasting 4-star quality, we were let down by the reality of our stay. The room was small, but adequate for our needs. Upon check-in, we dropped our bags and headed into the bar for a drink before heading away to the party. The draught beer actually dropped chunks into a pint, so we asked for a bottle instead. The service was slow. We returned during the wee hours of the morning and it took about 10 minutes for the night porter to hear us. He was very apologetic but it just seems to me that a doorbell might be in order. The mattress was in need of replacement and the toilet broke in the morning and would not flush. We didn’t attempt breakfast. All in all, we used the hotel for a purpose – to crash. If I were considering a stay for any other reason, I would think again. I was disappointed because I had heard the hotel had been renovated and upgraded to 4-star quality - and this was not the experience we had, unfortunately.

I stayed in this hotel for one night with a work colleague.

Thankfully it was only for the one night!

This hotel was obviously the place to be fifty years ago however does not appear to have had an ounce of work done on it since, other then the public bar below it.

Reception staff were fine however waiting staff did not appear to have any enthusiasm for the job and didn't provide a service I would be expecting from such a place.

The rooms were standard however the doors were not very secure and the rooms could all do with total renovation.

The food in the restaurant was stadard pub grub which was ok for a one off but what really scared me is that a fairly major leak had occurred in the roof which was dripping through a light (which was on!) and into four wine buckets being used to catch the drips. Seemed like a fairly major health and safety issue that required immediate action.

Then went for a pint downstairs and the lady serving at the bar certainly appeared to be put out by the fact that we wanted a drink.

For the future hosts of the upcoming Commonwealth Games in 2014 this hotel is not a good advert for Glasgow.

Must try harder!

Stayed at this hotel 1 night to go to the U2 concert, nice and handy for the stadium, plenty of parking and easy to find. The executive deluxe room was small, the 80's decor was appauling, although the white sheets were crisp and clean.. We were supposed to have bathrobes but couldn't find any there was no tea, milk and sugar left fout or us, the carpet was somewhat stained and the overall look of the room was dated and tired.
The breakfast was deep fried that included cheap and nasty sausages, the plates were hot which was a bonus. I would not recommend staying here for more than an overnight stay, the hotel would benefit from a total refit and will someone tell the owner to get rid of all the plastic flowers.
