We were seated in the main restaurant area which was fairly busy with a few big parties in so was quite noisy. We shared a chicken pakora starter which was tasty and quite spicy. Opted for fish and chips which was a decent sized portion, nicely presented and looked the part but it was pretty tasteless.
The highlight of the meal was the homemade caramel cake would thoroughly recommend as it was scrumptious!
On the whole, felt a bit disappointed with my meal at the Travellers Rest in Neilston. The food was just okay, service was just okay, wine was expensive and the restaurant is a bit dowdy. The main courses are expensive and I think you can get better quality food locally for the same amount or less.
