“Another great show”

The Pavilion Theatre
Ranked #67 of 338 things to do in Glasgow

The best theatre in Glasgow- intimate- friendly staff-great shows at reasonable prices. Not as fine looking as other modern establishments but generates an atmosphere that can only be created with age and a sense of history with the ghosts of past top class acts keeping an eye on everything.

Even from the outside the pavaillion looks like a proper classic theatre. The building itself is lovely inside & out. The pantos always have colourful sets and are great fun. Its my favourite place to go for a panto. The lobby is small and so are the bars etc, but it all fits with the quaint atmosphere of a classic theatre.

This is not the only theatre in the world with little leg room and as such shouldn't be singled out but I applaud theatres that cater for old fogies like me, with long legs and decrepit knees.

Can't tell you much about the show we went to see (was in a lot of pain at the time) but the theatre, in general, could be described as 'faded splendour' and needs some TLC to get it back to former glories.

That being said, I wouldn't want to see it removed from the Glasgow theatre scene.
