“Central Glasgow location”
Reviewed 20 January 2014 via mobile

Stayed here on business for two nights. Good central location opposite Glasgow station approximately 15 minute taxi ride from Glasgow airport. Good check in with bags delivered to room. Bedroom large with all facilities including free wifi throughout. No need to take any toiletries as all provided. Bath towels extremely luxurious, soft and large. I did have a faulty bath tap (room 612) which I did report but the outer layer was just put back on without it being repaired !! Hairdryer not particularly forceful although adequate. Bar and restaurant staff extremely polite and efficient. If I could change anything to make it better it would be to provide a bottle of complimentary water in the bedroom (no reason why this cannot be done as there is complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, chocolate bars etc), not to have the rooms put onto the lowest temperature on arrival so that it is freezing cold when you get to your room and again when you leave the room to be cleaned and for the reception staff to ask how your stay was and engage in conversation on check out. Good overall hotel

Stayed in the radisson blu in Glasgow in January. Easy to park in the NCP car park and not far to walk. Room was good, used the leisure facilities which although being busy were OK. Breakfast in room was offered FOC and late check out at noon was nice!

Booked this hotel for a weekend break and taking in a pantomime before christmas. The hotel is in a great location for the main railway station. The check-in was very efficient as there was a lot of people arrived at the same time. The room was a deluxe room which looked out onto a busy road junction but the noise level was minimal. The bar area was very nice especially as it was decorated for christmas. There was plenty of choice at breakfast.

I stay here regularly on business and find it an excellent place for a couple of nights. The rooms are always spotless. They're well laid out and very comfortable. The beds are about as comfy as you'll get anywhere. Staff are always friendly and polite and the 2 bars have a good atmosphere. I particularly love the corner bar where you can sit and read or watch the world go by. Location is also excellent and it's a quick walk to the many fine restaraunts around the area. Highlight of the stay for me however is always the buffet breakfast. Absolutley divine !!

Five minutes from Glasgow Central Station, the Radisson Blu is perfectly located regardless of how you arrive into the city. Arriving late on a Friday evening, I didn't get to see the sleek architectural lines of the hotel exterior until the following morning. On both nights, the hotel was host to glamorous black tie events and the lobby was a hive of activity. Check in was swift and I arrived at the tastefully designed room looking forward to a good rest after catching up with family who had arrived earlier in the day.
Just as we were about to drop off to sleep, a persistent hollow sucking, furniture-across-the-floor-dragging sound echoed into our room at 5 minute intervals. By the time 1am rolled around, we realised this was not our imagination. Bleary eyed we didn't put it down to our room location just opposite the lift shaft and called to ask if the hotel staff could help. Eventually after three or four calls during which we were told that there was an event on (and your point is?) and that they were "seeking to discover the source of the noise" we could bear it no longer and asked to be moved, taken aback at what we felt was an initial reluctance to see to it that we, as paying guests, were accommodated.
We packed our bags and were brought to a new room where we were eventually able to turn off the lights at 2.20am. Not ideal to say the least.
A tip - avoid room 426, the noise is the lift shaft and it goes on all night.
The second room was larger and brighter than the first, the bathroom was travertine tiled with bath and a (rather compact) shower with plenty of shower gels, soaps and moisturisers. There was a nespresso machine and iPad dock, and lounging area with spacious wardrobe space.
The bed was large and comfortable.
We had breakfast on the first morning in the hotel, there was a good selection of hot and cold food on offer, juices, fruit and bakery. The coffee in the restaurant was not great. The room was unbelievably hot and uncomfortable and we didn't linger.
The second night was (thankfully) less eventful than our first and we enjoyed an uninterrupted night of sleep.
The hotel is beautifully furnished and designed, ideally located and the rates on offer are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful, but I would advise that they perhaps listen and act immediately when any guests call in the early hours of the morning complaining of noise, believe me, we waited as long as we could before making a call to complain.
I would stay here again but I would request a room far away from the lift if I did, that was the only blip during our short stay.

Room Tip: Avoid room 426 or any equivalent room on any floor outside the lift shaft
