Had a great stay here, very close to SSEC, west end and a 20 min walk into centre of town. We had a larger than usual room, staff were excellent and very friendly. IF you have a genuine complaint- speak to someone at reception and they will do their best to help. STOP whining! Our view was of the street, but we werent expecting a "View"...Stayed for 2 nights and spoilt for choice for great restaurants nearby. would definately stay again. There was wallpaper coming off the walls-seems its being renovated, couldnt get BBC at first but was helped to get this and was fine.

Room Tip: if you want a view- go to the coast

Thank you for your review. At this moment in time all rooms are being stripped of wallpaper and we hope everyone will be pleased with the renovations. Some photos posted are from 2006 when we also had renovations going on and there will be a bit of a mess and a skip in the parking area. We apologise for any inconvenience and we are always pleased to get positive feedback on our staff. We hope you will visit again soon.

Booked up and got a good deal. Visting SECC and this is a close hotel for overnight stay.
Generally OK, but room was obviously one that you wouldn't give to someone paying premium rate. defective plug hole in washbasin. No heating in bedroom when we checked in. We had to ask for it to be put on, and it took a long time to warm up. Not quite warm enough overnight.
They obviously had run out of wall paper when decorating the bedroom because one wall was only half done, probably 3 lengths short! the lift broke down when we went "down" to breakfast and we had to use the stairs, - the lift having taken us up from the first floor to the third floor before giving up the ghost.
breakfast was adequate but no cooked item was hot!
Staff all very good, and helpful.

Room Tip: Don't get a cheap bargain

This was our 2nd stay here, so we knew what to expect. Devoncove is clean, cheap & cheerful. The rooms could do with an overhaul, but we were only in them to sleep and shower and it was adequate. The rooms were serviced everyday and were clean. Breakfast was ok, but I went to MacDonalds just a 10 min walk away! Location was good, you could walk into Glasgow, bus stop was just over the road and the taxis were about £5.

Made mistake of booking here and it was two of the worst nights of my life - nothing worked, and hotel staff/owner came to my room to check on complaints himself. As one of the staffers said, "everything here seems to work half-work". No phones in room either. Bathroom smelled of dirty/moldy rags. Had to take calls in hotel lobby to alert my wife that I was urgently seeking a new hotel to stay in.

Room Tip: stay elsewhere, Fawtly Towers writers must have stayed here to get inspiration for their show.

I stayed with my partner and 2 friends for a gig at the secc. (10 min walk!) we were presently surprised with the lobby and bar/ lounge very stylish and modern. The staff were also very friendly and helpful could not falt them! Our room was clean and comfortable, also very warm but as other reviews say ours was a bit dated with marks on the walls and wallpaper hanging off in some places, but really for what we paid this wasn't a big deal. (a little paint would fix it)
Breakfast was lovely, the fresh fruit and cooked breakfast was being replenished constantly there was no need to wait.
Would recommend this hotel if you are going to the secc it's also near lots of bars and take always, which obvcorse we took advantage of!

Room Tip: When booking phone try not to use Internet if you can.

We are always striving to do better and take all our guest responses seriously which is why all the rooms are being refurbished now.
Our "Feedback Forms" let us know that our guest would like to see the rooms updated and that they are all happy with our staff and the breakfast we provide..
I think we give good value for money and I hope you will visit us again when you are next in Glasgow.
