Really good performances. Classic venue with reasonably priced and good selection of booze. Try to get there a bit early and get a seat; avoid the front row if your scared of being part of the act.

My boyfriend and I went to the stand last night to try and get tickets to see frankie Boyle from the understanding that if we went 15 mins before the show we would be able to get any uncollected tickets as the show was sold out. We arrived ah 7 20 pm waiting for over an hour to see if we could get any and in the end there were 4 of us who could not get tickets. The women working there said there was only 1 spare but 2 people had not came to collect there's so essentially 3 spare tickets and they would not let the 4 of us in. We had been waiting a long time and there was room for an extra person but they said they had to hold onto 2 tickets until 10pm which I think is terrible. They lost out on money for the tickets and at the bar. Very disappointing that they would not accommodate and make an acceptation for just 4 people.

Hi there, I can appreciate your frustration, about not getting in to see Frankie Boyle, and whilst it might seem that we were being a tad petty and jobsworthy, the fact is that there are very strict fire regulations that we have to adhere to. We have a commitment to those that have already bought a ticket to provide them with an environment that it pleasant and enjoyable, and it can't be simply about filling the room to make an extra few quid.

Also, the 2 tickets for people that hadn't turned up, those tickets weren't actually returns, they were people that had paid for tickets and hadn't turned up for the show. If the person on the door gave you those tickets and then the 2 people turned up moments later then we'd have had to turn them away, even though they'd bought tickets. This wouldn't have been fair, and as is rightly the case we have to err on the side of caution.

Hopefully that makes sense, and if you want to see Frankie please note that he's on the bill on Thursday July 2nd in Glasgow.

great atmosphere if a little crushed, fabulous night out. Toilets are the only drawback…….basic is a good word to describe them but that certainly wouldn't stop us going back

The Stand Comedy is in the middle of Glasgow. Its very popular venue. They have great acts some are better known than others. But the standard is always great. The staff are great from the Bar staff to the person at the door to the person who takes your booking. It is always better to book your tickets before you turn up. Always turn up early so you can get a seat because it fill up quickly. The price of the drinks are very good (alcoholic or soft drink).
