“Great Location”
Reviewed 26 September 2013

Massive apartments with great amenities. Ours had very high ceilings and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is very functional and stylish. Breakfast room is nice clean and great service, but it feels more like an office canteen. It is not carrying out the same feeling as the rest of the building. Certainly will come back

This place is good, but the location is a bit close to the area the front desk lady told us not to go after dark. To be honest we did not like Glasgow as a town, everyone is a bit angry and the city has an aggressive feel to it. The apartment we had was huge, and very well equipped. The hotel has free laundry if your with kids you'll need. Beds were super comfortable and the lounge was large and well equipped. If your in Glasgow for an extended time this would be a great place. Parking is next door and at your cost.

Merchant city location excellent for easy access to bars, restaurants and other entertainment.

We had booked well in advance so got a very good deal, worth doing, however I had requested a quiet room on a high floor and was offered a first floor room above a very busy (and late opening) bar. When I pointed this out the receptionist checked my booking and changed it to a room on the 3rd floor, that should have been dealt with before we arrived.

We had opted for a one-bedroom apartment and am very glad we did as it was very spacious. On first glance everything looked fine but on closer inspection there are a number of issues to be addressed.

The most glaringly obvious one was that the carpeted areas needed a good vacuuming. Throughout the apartment more lighting is required as there are only three velux roof window which don't let in enough light.
The duvet on the bed wasn't big enough, it barely reached the edges of each side of the bed. Also a lack of furniture in the bedroom, nowhere to put bags etc, everything had to be parked on the floor.
I was surprised to see, given the overall size of the suite, a shower over the bath? The bedroom next door has lots of space so it would be possible to extend into there to have a separate shower.

Having stayed in lots of apartment accommodation I don't think the kitchen area is very well kitted out, it was fine for an overnight stay but if you were to stay longer it would be difficult to actually cook much there. An oven and dishwasher would be required. There was also no paper kitchen towels provided - unusual.

The location is great, a higher floor does negate some of the street/bar noise but more attention to detail is needed.
A little training in customer relations is also required for frontline staff, not very communicative.

Room Tip: Ask for a high, quiet room.

This was my first experience of the Fraser Suites the accommodation is of a very high standard and provides all the facilities you need to feel right a home. I could easily live in one of their 1 bedroom apartments. The apartments are reasonably close to both Queen Street and Central Stations, they are close to many bus routes and are just around the corner from Argyle Street and close to all the major shopping facilities in Glasgow. In addition to shopping there is the night live of Merchant City and there there are also some of the major Glasgow landmarks close by. Residence in the Fraser Suites attracts discounts at some of the local restaurants of up to 20%. I will certainly use the Fraser Suites again when I next visit Glasgow.

Had a quick one night stay. Really liked the central location, walking distance for shopping on Buchanan St and spoilt for choice for great eating places nearby - we opted for Jamie's in George Square. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and our one bedroom suite was really comfortable and as good as any 5* city centre hotel you'd pay a lot more for. The building site over the road wasn't a great view but that's a very minor complaint. Would definitely go back.

My wife and I reserved a room for two nights to visit the fringe on 23rd August.
The first impression was good and the staff professional an most helpful.

Unfortunately we had an absolute adventure trail from reception to our room at 415.
How disappointed to find the lovely room was so small we could hardly pass the hired air conditioning unit at the window. Noisy and to be honest stuffy and a wee bit smelly.
Not good.
That said, the establishment is fine and so close to the mile an Mound.

Staff very nice shame about the wee claustrophobic room.

Room Tip: Go somewhere the rooms are bigger! What swimming pool????

Having stayed for two weeks it was disappointing. The rooms themselves were magnificent but unfortunately, when anybody walked across the room above or beside you, the noise was carried right through.

Also, a disco is situated under the hotel which meant music till 3am on Saturdays and sundays

In saying that, the staff were fantastic in aroma dating your every need

Room Tip: Try to get the highest floor to stop noises
