here I am again in Glasgow for a short shopping & gigs breakaway and where else to stay than here? Elizabeth & Jamie are still the nicest people I know ! this place is really a hidden jewel ! hope you'll get more and more guests ! Clean, cheap, comfy, convenient if you like Football and the Celtics - Parkhead is just 10 minutes' walk away, or music - same distance for Barrowland ... and a new store, Morrisons', has just opened down the road ! a great supermarket ! remind me of Wholefoods, in the USA ! What else to say? a second home for me !

...well this last trip to Glasgow was my third within a year & as usual I stayed with the Morrisons' ... Charming people, charming place, cosy & comfy .. and if you are travelling on a budget, this is the place to stay ... much better than a youth hostel !!! Hearty breakfast, great location to enjoy the Barras Market on weekends, to take a stroll to the Forge Shopping Centre & even to town ... for those not wanting to walk, buses & underground are 5 min.' away.Once again, you will feel like home.

We loved this charming little bed and breakfast. We did have to share a bathroom, but that was no problem to us as our room had its own shower, TV, and free wi-fi. Even better was the woman who runs it. I can't even explain all of the things she did to help us out, even going so far as to let us borrow her umbrella and a hat! We didn't get to try the breakfasts, but she gave us a discounted rate for that. And the location is perfect. A short bus ride into town or a 20 minute walk on a nice day. We absolutely loved it and would recommend this place to anybody visiting near Glasgow!

Met male host, very short on hospitality upon arrival. Met female host the next morning and she very hospitalable. Breakfast very tasty. Shared facilities was not advertised. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable (a prerequisite for travellers). My husband did a James Bond with his shoe and killed a huge spider in our room that night.

Owner was awesome, thought we had known her for years! So helpful, even bought us a bottle of wine! The home was warm, cosy and just what we wanted. Very handy to town - even to walk in heels! I cannot speak highly enuf of this charming B&B and I will make every effort to stay again when we travel back to Scotland in the future. We stayed 4 nights all up, and wished we had stayed longer.
Local Italian restaurant (which I cannae pronoun) was the icing on the cake too, just down the road.
Thanks LIz, keep doing what u do so well. You are much appreciated here on the other side of the world!

Voluminous airy quiet room, comfortable beds, spotless linen, terrific display of artwork, sumptuous breakfast, close to transport, gracious knowledgeable host.
Shared toilet/shower - no problems and abundant towels/soap etc.
Mr and Mrs Morrison make you feel like one of the family. An absolute gem compared to those I used in Europe.

Craigielea House is an extremely pleasant B&B in Glasgow, within walking distance of the touristy area of downtown (shopping, main streets, Modern Art gallery), the Provand's Lordship, the Glasgow Cathedral, St. Mungo's Museum of Religious Life, and the necropolis. It's also just a couple of blocks from a very nice restaurant, Tibo. I should say that Craigielea is in a quiet residential area, which is great--it's also a bit removed from the center of the city so if you want to be a stone's throw from the pubs or something, this isn't your place. But if you're looking for a quiet, very clean abode with a generous breakfast and very inexpensive prices, then Craigielea is your guy. The proprietress, Elizabeth, is really extraordinarily friendly and helpful, and she bustles about making sure your stay is comfortable. There are showers in some of the rooms, but the toilets are shared. (So yes, this is a budget place, but using the bathroom was never an issue--it always seemed to be empty.)
