“Value for money in an excellent location”
Reviewed 10 April 2009

Located 5 minutes walk from Queen Street train station. Cleanliness of hotel was first class. Stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast was very ample and varied. Staff were very helpful, courteous and very pleasant and that includes the front desk staff, the waitresses and the girl who cleaned our room. We stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago, and as we were so happy with our previous stay that we re-booked with confidence, The hotel didn't let us down,

Stayed here for 1 night, my second visit here. Welcomed nicely.

Location is good convenient for many things. Room fine for what its is advertised as although I share the view about the TV position. Could do with a better size one more traditionally placed. Room and bathroom both clean. The bed was fine.

The bar closed earlier than I remember last time but perhaps the custom wasn't enough. Oddly it reopened for an extra round having closed once. There are plenty of late alternatives nearby but guests perhaps like the security of their hotel late at night.

I didnt eat on the premises.

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel and our facilities.

As hotel residents, we are able to offer drinks 24 hours per day, but the bar will close around 11pm if there are no guests to serve. However, as witnessed during your stay, we are more than happy to open again should there be guests requiring it.

I do hope you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Stayed here in November & got another good deal at £60 a night B & B via Holiday Inn website. Just as good as last time. Although the furniture is a little dated, the room was spotless, the bathroom gleamed. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly & helpful. Will stay again.

Good clean hotel in a very central location in the Glasgow City centre.

The only caveat I would state is that we ate out or brought food in because the hotel prices were pricey for North Americans.

Thank you for your kind comments about the hotel.

Our restaurant prices are in line with other similar establishments in the area and are representative of the high quality of food and service we offer as La Bonne Auberge is an award winning restaurant.

Throughout the year, we have a number of promotions available and should you return please do not hesitate to ask about our latest offers. Alternatively you could choose an inclusive dinner, bed & breakfast rate which represent excellent value for money.

Thank you once again.

A few of my friends and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and had an enjoyable stay. The location was perfect for exploring Glasgow, right on the doorstep of the shops and plenty to do nearby, also near the underground station to get to the west end.
The rooms were very clean, bathrooms spotless. Breakfast was lovely with a nice choice on the buffet. We had a pre-theatre dinner one night in the restaurant which was excellent value for money for the quality of food they serve - top class. All staff very friendly and helpful no problem to get you a taxi or advise on direction. I would definately stay here again if coming back to Glasgow.

at the Holday Inn Express. This hotel is a bit tired. The rooms are inferior to the Holiday inn Express (stained and cracked sinks), cramped room - TV on top of a wardrobe - Oh my poor neck. It's not bad just a fair bit inferior to the holiday inn express. Nice bar - didn't try the restaurant. I seemed to upset one of the (French?) bar staff with my bad French pronunciation - she was a bit snotty.

Thank you for your review. I was disappointed to learn that you felt the rooms in our sister property were superior to the Holiday Inn. The Express by Holiday Inn does have some newer rooms in the extension, however the condition and cleanliness of the rooms in both properties are of paramount importance and I will follow up your comments with our housekeeping & maintenance teams. On a positive note I am pleased you liked our bar area, and I am sure your pronunciation did not really upset any of our team.

Kind regards

I am very sorry to read that you did not have an enjoyable visit to the hotel. Whilst our rooms are compact, they do have all the facilities you would require, and we do have a selection of room types available including executive rooms which are larger.

The receptionist to which you refer is usually very popular with our guests, so I was surprised by your comments. From your brief review, it is difficult for me to investigate the problems, but should you wish to contact the hotel regarding this, I would be happy to look into this in more detail.

Kind regards
