“Nice Clean Hotel - Terrible Beds”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2014

I have stayed here previously and was very pleased with the Hotel which is well located if going to a concert at the nearby venues, which are within walking distance. There is free parking at the Hotel which is great and it is only 5 minutes in a taxi to the city centre.

The Hotel is very clean and staff we encountered very pleasant. My only complaint was the mattress on the bed was far too soft and badly in need of replacement, albeit I will not be put off trying this Hotel again.

I am the longest regular visitor to the hotel having stayed almost every month since it opened in 2003. Other than Marika the Deputy GM who like me has been there from the start, I have seen staff come and go but its always the same. A warm welcome, a comfortable stay, reliable food, friendly staff and a perfect location. Only a 2 minute drive from the M8, a 15 minute walk from Buchanan Street and with both the SECC and new Hydro next door, it couldn't be better located.

Room Tip: I always book my room for the whole year ahead but as its a non-smoking hotel it really makes no dif...

me and a friend stayed for her birthday as we were going to see Russell Howard in the hydro and we got a good deal through booking.com. the staff were very friendly when we arrived and we were checked in quickly. the room was a decent size and clean. we did noticed that we didn't have any big towels but once i told the staff at reception this was quickly corrected. after the gig we came bag and went straight to our room to have drinks and ordered in food from the nearest takeaway which we collected at reception without an issue. check out was at 12pm so we had plenty of time in the morning to have a lie in and get ready before setting out for the day. the stay was great and i would recommend it to anyone going to the secc.

I was looking for something better and nicer than the Premier Inn I stayed in last week and this hotel was just across the river, so thought I would give it a go.
Staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly with a quick and painless checking in process. The bar/restaurant staff were again a credit to the hotel, thanks
Piped music, ok, it has been mentioned previously, but I found it chilling while sat in the bar area having my evening meal (chairs were more comfy than the main restaurant) and one of the other guests was asking for the name of one of the songs, so I was able to use Shazam on the phone to find it out for him!
The room is clean and well provided for, so far, no problems
I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by the meal, I really enjoyed the chicken strips, gammon/egg/chips finishing off with the nachos!
There is free car parking, but don't leave it too late to find a space and free wifi around the hotel ie room and lounge/bar.
No problems about coming back here again and looking forward to both breakfast and returning.

I have visited the restaurant within the Campanile Hotel on quite a few occasions now and OMG the quality of the food is fantastic. Great selection on even the Pre-Theatre Menu and fantastic value for money. I would however recommend booking as over the time that I have been going here, it is getting busier so pre-booking is a must. Great service, great staff, great food and great value for money - what more do you want.

I have absolutely no quibble about recommending here to anyone.

Good shower, room to expected standard (although heating didn't seem to be working in our room), food was good, ideal location for events - couldn't be much closer to the SECC venues, and surprisingly quiet for a Friday night in Glasgow. Basically you get what you need for an overnight stay. We took a walk along the Clyde to the Riverside Museum next morning after breakfast - that's definitely worth visiting!

Hotel room small and adequate. Booked for a meal at 5pm...took an age for the one lumbering waiter to seat us even though we were 2 feet from him. Service excruciatingly slow...dead slow and stop speed. Pretty below average and you needn't be in a rush.
