“Girlie Weekend”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

We stayed here at the end of November 2013 for a Christmas shopping weekend. Hotel very central with lots within walking distance. Hotel lovely very clean and rooms spacious. Breakfast in the morning lovely and lots of choice. Staff all very friendly and worked very hard especially in dinning room in the morning. Would recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

There was better value and better quality hotels than Jury's had to offer. The toilet was broken, light from the corridor came under the room door all night, the corridor was noisy, the train is too close. Even the added sound proofing doesn't keep out the noise of the trains. This is not value for money. The reception staff operated like robots, trying to ensure they did the right thing. They must be under a lot of pressure to keep the guests happy. This method of robotic, doesn't work. Security was not as good as the Premier.

We stayed here for two nights, the first room we were allocated stunk of smoke and after returning to reception to complain the staff were extremely apologetic and helpful. We were then allocated a room on the top floor with some amazing views over the city, our daughter loved watching the trains come in and our of Central Station.
Very good location, right on the door step to all major shops and of course the train station. The breakfast is amazing and the staff again were so happy to assist in our requests for extra fruit.
We had our evening meal included in our first night stay and food was good and service efficient.

Great location, rooms were very clean and a good size with one single and small double bed. Was on the 10th floor so no noise from the street. Only complaint would be the water pressure wasn't good at the sink or the shower. Tasty breakfast too

I had never stayed in a Jurys Inn before but had quite high expectations I think! This hotel was decorated nicely for Christmas but the room was just average and very cold at night. It was December but there were no instructions on how to operate the heating. In the morning, I was wakened early by the noise of trains. The manager working on reception was very helpful but unfortunately, the other staff were not. One said that he would chase up our taxi for us but just never returned!

Positive Points
The hotel did have clean rooms, presented very well, and good views over the Clyde.
Tasty food!

Negative Points (There are a few!)

We stayed here in December 2013, and were very disappointed at the service and treatment.
We sat down for our evening meal around bench style tables, that didn't even have table cloths. The food whilst very tasty, lacked in quantity.
The derive was very slow in bringing food to the table, but the staff we clearing the table around us as we continued to eat!
The room lacked basic sound proofing and because our room was opposite the lifts, and a Christmas Party was on going in the hotel, the last disruption was around 3am, and started again at around 6am.

Sadly at around 9.45pm the fire alarm went off, and the hotel had to be evacuated. Their was a serious lack of staff to assist guests trying t get out of the building, apart from 2 staff members who came running up the stairs shouting "get out of the way" we didn't see another member of staff in the building! It felt like the staff were the first ones out, and the guests were left to fend for themselves.

Once outside, the staff were very rude, rather than assisting guests get away from the building, they were forcibly pushing guests onto the pavement from the road (The road was safe to walk down because the it was blocked with fire engines)

Room Tip: Avoid room 811, the air con unit sounds like an old cini camera!

we only stayed one night on Saturday night, very friendly staff of them we saw, smooth check in check out, just one thing I would say is I find it expensive ok we had to get it last minute and its in Glasgow city centre which was perfect for us and just before Christmas as well so I thought I have to go with that price but £189 for one night for 2 is to much!room was clean, just bathroom I find a bit cold looking,we didn't slept very well because of the mattress but that could be down to us,breakfast is a nice choice and tasty, just 10 pounds per person is quite high for small plates ok its help yourself but didn't wanted to go more then once.would stay again there good location and easy to find.
