Having been "ousted" from the Griffin by force of numbers of theatregoers transcending local patrons, we walked sauchiehall Street seeking an honest, no frills meal.
Eventually we came to Yates, and more in hope than expectation, we asked if they served meals.
The girl behind the counter assured us that wed could have fish and chips, a bottle of house wine, and even have a "sweet" if we wished.
Thankfully, we took advantage of all three offers (cost less than £25.00) and left with replete feeling of having been welcome in a large yet funnily intimate restaurant/bar. Service was cheerful, and meal was well cooked and tasty.
We are elderly and thankful to find a young persons' place where we were welcome.
