1st stay at this hotel - comfy beds as expected, lovely shower, good size towels - rooms a little too hot but gave that feedback - so central - get your car park ticket stamped for a discount at buchanan galleries carpark. Good breakfast. for £20 per person per night you cannot beat it !! go stay there

This was a very very nice hotel in a choice location and even though it was on very busy streets, it was very quiet. The service was excellant and the staff accommodating and very friendly. Great value...

We stayed on the 17th floor, [ which if u count the restaurant and shop below makes it the 19th floor.]
What a view, no problem booking in and service in restaurant was excellent.
Staff helpfull at all times.

Room Tip: Higher floor better view, lifts excellent no problems at all.

I think this is supposed to be the "flagship" Premier Inn in Glasgow following its recent completion and its location in Glasgow town centre but it perhaps has to review some of its procedures and management personnel.
To start with, arriving by car can be problematic as there is nowhere (on a ordinary day) to park, there are some on- street parking bays opposite but you will either be very lucky to get across the busy road and even luckier to get a space and then if you do it costs a fortune for very limited parking time. You then have to carry your bags up a flight of stairs (no ramp) and once inside another flight of stairs (again no ramp - but there is a disabled platform lift) - where's Reception - on the second floor. So you either have to leave your bags unattended and walk up two floors or take them with you. There is a lift but you need a swipe card to use the lift - not much good if you haven't checked in and don't have one yet. There is someone supposed to be in Reception looking after bags but they are not always there.
When you get to Reception and ask about parking you are directed to a public car-park about 500 metres away (uphill) - be sure and ask for a discount ticket which Reception should have - this gives you 50% discount on the car park charges or it can become a very pricey stay. Up the lift and into the rooms. The room we had was large and had the basics ie towels and an open wardrobe for hanging clothes - very limited drawer space to if you are planning on a longer stay don't bother unpacking as there is no-where to put it. Room was very clean and well finished (but it is only recently opened), bed was very comfortable but the pillows are very soft. Bathroom was very clean but the shower curtain smelled a bit. Soap dispensers on the wall for shower and at the basin, no other bits and pieces that you get elsewhere. I'm not sure if the air conditioning was working properly as the temperature said 28 degrees but the room was cold, also when it does get warm there are no opening windows for fresh air.
Breakfast was a bit of shambles - it's on the second floor next to Reception. A sign asks you to wait to be seated but you can be left waiting a long time as there is no one there manning the desk - at breakfst time you would think this would be a basic thing to organise. The layout is a bit of a maze trying to find where things are set out but once found there is a reasonable array of choice providing it is replenished - again a basic. Food laid out under the hotlights however was mediocre and fairly cold to taste, juice jugs empty, milk jugs nearly empty, no teabags, not enough clean cups or glasses, tables cleared away before you are finished and whilst you are looking for something else to eat. Asked three times for some fresh fruit and it still didn't come.
Lots of waiting staff appeared to be busy but not doing very much in reality.
This is not the first time we have stayed in a Premier Inn but in this instance I think they should miss out the Premier. It was average and could have stayed in a four star hotel elsewhere for the same price or less.

Stayed here over a weekend while in Glasgow for a concert. Our room was very spacious and the view from the window was stunning - up Sauchiehall Street and beyond! There are three lifts and they are pretty fast going from ground floor to the heady heights. We just used the hotel as a base to stay and didn't eat in the hotel. Why would you, when there are so many places to eat round and about?

The only thing I'm not keen on is the fact that the rooms are all mechanically air conditioned - there are no opening windows at all. So it feels as though you're in a hermetically sealed environment with no fresh air.

When we left on the Sunday, the hotel held onto our bags until it was time to get our bus back to the airport. A great service and very friendly staff.

First time in this hotel and it is in a perfect location. Rooms were the usual high standard that I have come to expect.

BUT....Decided to just grab something to eat in the 'Thyme' restaurant on Sat night. The waiter (who was wearing a security type ear piece) misheard out order. This meant that we got a Spicy pizza instead of the extra feast side dish. Two of us and three main courses!!

When it arrived I explained that I had not ordered a pizza and the waiter said it was his mistake and he would take it off of the bill. He offered to change it but to save hassle I said no.

So I ate my main and to take the bad look off of the waiter I ate a couple of slices of pizza.

The bill arrived and the pizza was on it. I explained and was then told that as I had eaten some of the pizza the manager said I had to pay for it!!! SPEECHLESS

End result....no £5 tip and I will never eat at this premier inn again. Might sound harsh but its the basics of service and Mr.
Waiter you failed

Hotel was nicely located, and it corresponded to the Premier Inn standard. Nice rooms and a great view of the city on the top floors. On the other hand, while we were there the fire alarm went off around 3-4h in the morning and we had to rush downstairs. Apart from the fact that a lot of people crowded the stairs carrying suitcases and we did not see anyone from the hotel reprehending these persons, when we got downstairs we were basically yelled to run outside. When reasoning the employee whether we could stay by her side or get a blanket or something as we did not have proper clothing to go outside,, she just said that there was nothing she could do. So we stayed there waiting for 30 minutes on the cold of -2C until they just told us that we could go back in. On the following day they just put a paper on he elevator saying they were sorry for the unfortunate event of the previous night (we found out it was a false alarm after we requested further information).

This is definitely not the correct way of treating your guests...

Room Tip: Get a room on the upper floors for a nice city view
