Description: Our name dates back to 1871, when the pub was owned by whisky maker Archibald Lauder. Back then it had seven bars including a secret one upstairs, and even a barber's shop downstairs. These days we don't offer a haircut for a penny, but we do serve up a cracking pint of cask ale and plenty of tasty pub-food - all at great prices.

Had a really good meal Nadia attented to all custormers promptly and efficiently. Only concern was had to be out by 20:00. So it all felt a bit rushed.

“Great bangers and mash”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

So good we went here twice in 24 hours, for supper one night and for lunch the day after!! Superb bangers and mash, and even a veggie option for the bangers. Spot on service and good selection of brews, as to be expected in a pub. Great value on meals!

“Great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2013

Had,nt been to lauders in many years so my friend and I decided to stop off here on day out in Glasgow. Have to say was suitably impressed. Had a very extensive menu with something to suit all tastes and appetites. The menu offer,s standard 'pub grub' such as fish and chips and steak pie as well as curries for a spicier bite. You are also given the choice of smaller platters as well as the option of standard size for those with a big appetite. I opted for the small portion of chicken and ham pie. Service was lightening quick and was well presented for pub grub. The pie itself was tasty with bits of chicken and ham visible and not drowned in a sauce to make up the weight of the pie. This was served with chips and peas. The portion itself, as stated had requested the small, was more than enough to satisfy and thourghly enjoyable to boot. My friend opted for burger and chips which he said was thourghly enjoyable to boot. The price was extremely good for a city centre eatery. Meall for two with two drinks each and still have change from £15 - great! I,m glad I,ve rediscovered this place and will certainly make a point of visiting again soon

In here most days as it is close to the premier inn, and excellent value for food and drink. Staff are friendly and a relaxing atmosphere.
