“Glasgow City Break”
Reviewed 19 December 2013

Decided to have a couple of days in Glasgow and stayed at the Premier Inn, George Square Glasgow. Very central for shopping or cultural visits. Spotlessly clean. Service was well above average as was the breakfast and evening meals. Definitely would use this hotel again. Very hard to beat Premier Inn's quality.

Booked a twin room for two adults. think the photograph will describe my disappointment. the room comprised of one double and one VERY small sofa bed single - not suitable for an adult. Did query this with reception and although the receptionist insisted all the rooms were the same, she did still offer to go and look and check which I found puzzling.

I was also not impressed by the surface of the bath.

Yes the room rate was good but I still expected a better room to suit two adults.

Everything else about the hotel is great, however a good nights sleep is extremely important and that is not easy in such a small bed!

Hi Sheila S

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at our hotel. At Premier Inn we always strive to provide customers with a comfortable stay, and I apologise that on this occasion your stay was less than relaxing. All twin rooms in Premier Inn George Square have a double bed & a sofa bed as standard, but please be assured your comments have been noted and will be followed up with the Management Team at our hotel. Your feedback is very much appreciated and we look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn in the future.

Hadn't been through the automated checking in service before but it worked fine. There was a staff member on hand if one needed help. The rooms are just fine - clean, tea/coffee making facilities, the bathrooms offer all you need. Breakfast was a pleasant experience because the staff were so accommodating plus the fact that the scrambled and fried eggs were freshly made. When we asked for some milk for the 2 year old at the bar in the evening, we were given a pint and not charged - what a fantastic service!

Stayed for a bargain £25 for the room on a Sunday night , our room was at the back overlooking a church and graveyard! Everything you expect from a Premier Inn, loads of hot water, spacious room, clean and tidy. We opted out of breakfast and had a long lie in on Monday morning.Would use this Inn again when next in the city.

Room Tip: Overlooking the gardens/graveyard!!

Just like most premier inns. Comfortable night sleep although wasn't there long. Bar staff friendly and service was good ideal location for shops and car parking opposite. Will definitely stay again.

Only down side was the lack of plugs in the room but never mind

Just got back this evening after staying here for 3 nights and wanted to do this review as soon as possible to do this place justice. I stayed here with my husband and 20 month old daughter aswell as having an additional 2 rooms, 1 for my father and step mother and another for my sister with my 2 year old niece. We chose this hotel as it is central and the price was very reasonable,

Upon arrival it was raining and you can imagine with 2 cases, a pram and a 1 year old it was quite difficult to climb the stairs but the receptionist came outside and helped us straight away along with a warm welcome. He helped us with the check in as we hadn't used the superb self check in service before, Don't worry if you don't know either as any of the staff will gladly help you. Overall a great 1st impression.

When arriving in the room it was at the end of the corridor, quiet room as requested. We found it very spacious and even had a cot for my daughter (she chose to sleep in the single bed next to us) bath in the room, tv, tea and coffee (stocked up every day but if you ran out just ask for some extra, not a problem) great value for money at £35pn.

Location couldn't be better! Literally 2mins walk from the beautiful George Square and the many shopping streets. Surprising how quiet the rooms are to be so central.

On departing last night I had forgotten to print my boarding passes off to return home and reception kindly printed them off for me at no charge.

On departure this morning they couldn't help enough from ordering the taxi, to helping put the cases in the car.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to have an enjoyable stay. You really do get a good night sleep on the comfortable beds and if you don't they even give you the managers personal phone number ( now that's customer service) you get free wifi for 30mins a day if you would like to email them also. The staff are an absolute credit to the hotel and it's manager. See you soon.
